  1. I'm thinking that as SebastienL has inferred, you have not actually begun a pbem game, but have sent a save game file to him. In this case it would be saved in the scenarios folder, if not the saved games folder (not sure if there is one of those). Tell him to look there for the game.

But if what you want is to play AGAINST your friend via email, then you need to begin anew, and when you get to the point where choose one of the following: 1-player, Hotseat, TCP/IP, or Hotseat, you need to choose PBeM. The just play it out until the end. Trust me, do not save the game and send him the save file. When your "turn" is over the game will tell you to name the file and then will save it to the pbem folder. Send that to your friend.

I am guessing that you began a hotseat game and ssaved it to send to your friend. You can certainly do so, but it will be cumbersome. Besides which, the security temptation you asked about in your other thread.

  2. As long as it is not terribly expensive. From what I expect out of it, I would care to pay something like 30$US, but we'll see, I guess.

Of course, alot depends upon any community that grows around it, also. Do people decide they enjoy playing H2H with the CMC supra-game or do they not. I can also foresee one or two persons running the CMC campaign while others commit to the battles, which would relieve having to have CMC, possibly, provided there are export capabilities, which actually I doubt.

  3. I lile the plan.

However, have you considered the thought that perhaps his attack upon A was merely a feint? And that the real assault will be launched upon B?

I'm just thinking that, considering you have probably identified no more than 2-3 platoons of infantry, and possibly less than that, in the area of A, along with the mobile AFVs, and that he apparently launched merely a tiny probe against A with those forces....

Further, you have seen a couple of mgs, a sniper and a gun in B, nothing more?

Now you find him advancing upon your right, which supposes that he had some forces pre-disposed to this action. The sound contact could be the ones from his rear crossing over, but are they that fast.

Where is his other company-plus of infantry?

  4. Yes, you have the initiative, but remember that it is basically because you were defending against an attack. Coupled with the fact that your opponent lost his nerve, well, you have a decent position right now. If he had forced the issue? Well, he would probably have suffered great casualties, but taken your village. Of course, that would have left you free to take his town, lol.

Anyhow, what I am saying is that attacking is harder than defending, all other things being equal, as we know. So when you switch to the offense in the coming rounds (which of course you will even though you would likely "win" as things stand, because it is much more fun! smile.gif ), remember this and either go for it whole hog or do not, IMHO.

Its the problem with equally divided flags on a map - since both start equal, the one who attacks first risks much.

  5. Could be one platoon of split squads: HQ-A1-B1-C1-A2-B2-C2-LMG/Mortar. That's not to say he hasn't got more back there, though.

I hesitate to give any advice, considering the game like poker: one player to a hand. But, damn, it's fun to speculate, lol.

By all means, carry on with your plans, and disregard my meanderings, which are that it was likely a mistake that his SMGs opened fire. I expect that he meant to creep that t34 up in the woods without being discovered and next turn would have assaulted the town in a pincer. His troops into the bldgs from your left flank, and his troops and t34 from the wood in front of your armor assaulting your stug and tiger. Meanwhile, his other remaining armor in the field rushes forward.

NOW, however, he may call it off. Nevertheless, were it me, I would hold steady as things stand, cancel the orders to the HQ stug, sending him down the main road instead of the tiger if anywhere.

BTW, what are your flamers up to?

  6. Not bad at all. A bit unfortunate in the center, but nothing ventured, nothing gained. If you can approach the town center out of sight of his gun, then you may very well capture this area.

I would be wary, however. He may be bringing his SU around that way. Regardless, his infantry is sharing the same woods as your flame-tanks, isn't it? You have much to contemplate.

I would ask why bother retreating the tiger, unless it is a matter of it being too close to infantry that may be in the woods there.
