  1. I have a game in progress, all my Chinese HQ's can only support 4 units each. I have been playing forever and know all the in's and outs of HQ support, so it is not something I'm doing wrong! Herbert, I have the save game, it has been going on for about 3 turns now, maybe if you tell me where to send it, you could look at it???? Thanx, dave
  2. April 41. Things getting a little frustrating. My Japanese take Yumen and the fort next to Chenchow, but things there are way behind schedule. With the USA's high readiness, I may face them with China still a powerful enemy, something I did not think would happen. Not much better in the Med. My African ports are down to 1 supply, and my units are unable to attack and trapped. Getting Syria is nice, but supply there not good either. Russia looms, and I'm not ready...
  3. Things are getting tougher everywhere. I'm effectivly stopped in Eqypt, though my tank in syria manages to kill a second corps. Germans and Brits trade carriers in the Atlantic, and my survivors run. Bad timing here, what should have been my escorting u-boats were in port upgrading. Yugoslavia surrenders. In China, I get a corps outside Yumen, but losing that army hurt. The Chinese also making a push in the south east, I send a SF to make sure they don't get too far. China doing much better than last game. And with the USA rediness so high, it won't be long before I have to face the Americans...
  4. Feb 41 The Chinese are beginning to stiffen some, not much progress last 2 turns. In the med, the Brits attack Syria and I'm forced to send a tank destined for egypt to bail them out. Will be interesting if syria will allow me to flank his egyptians.
  5. Dec 40. Sian falls. Screenshot of situation in China. Allies almost get an Italian tank, I land a second german army to hold the line. Free french attack Iraq. Right at the end of the turn, I realize that I forgot to reinforce Iraq unit, but too late, I just clicked turn over. Grrrrr.... I'm worried about the USA, they are at 47% already!!!
  6. nov 40. Germans get the gold and a couple of ships. Remains to be seen if they can get to friendly waters. The diplomatic hit is considerable - USA in the 40's now. Japanese whittle away at the Chinese, no units killed. China appears to have a deep defense, nice job there. Germans get 1 SF in Egypt, don't really have the units to advance.
  7. Chinese evacuate Langchow, I guess that means a free unit for them RN gets another sub. I move in Langchow and reduce Sian. Japanese pouring into China everywhere. Germans take out Sweden, but pay a heavy price in USA and Finnish diplomacy. USA is now at 38%. I must be more careful.
  8. Thx Hubert. Suprised nobody has noticed this before.
  9. Oct 40. I finally get around to taking Norway. Minor attack in Africa, I sent one German inf there to hold off the allies for awhile. In China, Japanese troops in the outskirts of Sian and Lanchow. Forgot to mention last turn Indochina was captured. I have to wonder if China is going to be in the same mess, just at a later date. Yes the changes have helped, but with a couple chits in motorization and normal results (no early hit), I still got things going pretty quickly. It rRemains to be seen if the Chinese will toughen up from here as units from the queue enter. At any rate, the money for the chits, plus upgrading the units that used to start with motorization is a step in the right dirrection.
  10. Sept. 40 Not much in Europe, Germans and Italy just upgrading and organizing. China, the Japanese, armed with their trucks are breaking through in the north. Carverrt has done a good job at damaging Japanese armies, but I have so many, I just retreat the injured ones and toss in another. I think the Japanese army is over represented in strenght compared to european countries. Screen shot attached.
  11. Interesting strategy. Having units in queue would allow you respond instantly to attack from any dirrection, and keep you from getting boxed in, but units in the queue don't defend or dig in either...
  12. Last turn quiet, exchanged Cruisers with the RN. Japanese upgrading/Germans repairing. This turn, Aug 40 (i think): Japanese start attacking. Screen shot of the beginning of the offensive. I can see Caverrt put some money in Chinese air as I get 4 intercepts. The With motorization and level 2 inf. weapons the Japanese will be tough to stop now. In Europe, The RN attacks a Bomber in Denmark, almost kill it. I counter attack with air and a sub, knocking a BB down to 3. Interesting to see if the British hang around for another round. Quiet in the Med. Italy fixing Navy. I can see allies advancing in Africa, still deciding if I want to fight down there.
  13. If you find a unit that is not attached to a HQ, check its rediness and morale, then attach it to a HQ, you will see that the effects are instant.
  14. I attacked with a corps that had HQ support, then swtch-moved with a unit behind it. After switching, I was able to detach the corps that had attacked with HQ support, and reassgn the support to the unit that it had switched with. Haven't experimented, but I imagine I could double the units attached to a HQ if I were to exploit this. I'm thinking it must be a bug.
  15. Yep. and the ford 1 ton is worth a brigade of tiger tanks.
  16. June 40. France falls. Heavy losses for Germans, but no units were killed. Allies wisely get most of the British out of the country, was hoping they would stick around and get trapped. In the med, the british press me and I attack. I had put some extra air down there because the allies were so active and it paid off. I get a DD and a BB. I get greedy and try to get a carrier as well, running into the french again. Will be interesting to see the allied response, push harder, or back off? At beginning of turn, the Japanese are at 96% motorization, so I sell one of the chits. At the end of the turn, it hits. A couple turns to upgrade, then I'm coming. I finally get the corps in the north that I have been attacking every turn.
  17. May 1940. Poor turn for Axis. Lost that crusier, Japanese can't kill a corps, and my germans throw everything at paris, but can't take it. Should have done a screen shot, but forgot. Paris has a 1 strength tank left. good news, Japanese progress towards motorization is very close. I'm almost sure to get it before the summer is out.
  18. April 40. Japan now at 75% motorization. Germans kill a French army. I make a big mistake and move an Italian crusier out of port, he runs into the French. Happy birthday, Carverrt. The Italian sub hits for 1 on a Brit BB. @Seamonkey: It is tough to block the adriatic sea. Since the patch neutral ships now pass through each other.
  19. March 1940. My Japanese do some safe attacking, waiting for motorization research to hit. In Europe, it appears the Allies are planning to take out the italian fleet. I send all my ships to port and keep the Germans from moving next to Paris in the hope that next turn I can take them out without them getting a turn to attack the italian fleet. The Germans manage to take out a French Army and a British corps with minimal losses. Fail. At the end of the turn, the Italians join. Thought if I stayed away from Paris they would hold off. This could cost me.
  20. I agree. I have complained a few times here, but I guess since most my games are mirror and it works for both sides then it does even out. That said, just about every game has Jets on both sides by mid 1943, and that's just one example.
  21. Feb 20: Germans take out another army, but afraid to exploit into the hole. Chinese get a free turn while the Japanese upgrade troops. Motorization research is at 50%. When that hits, then the real battle begins.
  22. January 1940. Bad luck for Caverrt, my japanese get quite lucky and now have inf. weapons level 2. I did have 2 chits there, but still, that is very fast. In France, I take out one army. Here is my first attempt at a screenshot. I used print screen and captured it with paint. I used an attachment. Got a red bar that looks like it will quickly run out if I keep doing this. Thanx to strategy clay for the idea, but instead of using a host for the pic, I uploaded it (lazy and don't have an account with any of those picture sites). Curious if I will run out of room soon and won't be about to do this???
  23. December 24th turn. The Chinese retreat! Quite unexpected from Caverrt. With my limited mobility, I can't chase, and with Chengchow a ghost town, nothing in range of my carriers. I move in. At the end of the turn, Chengchow "survivors" appear, a free army! Not sure that makes sense, since, I did not destroy the army in Chengchow. Nice little trick for a free army, will have to remember that. In the west, I amphib and take Denmark and damage one French army outside Paris. @Seamonkey: interesting research advice, the opposite of what I would expect. Most players go for inf weapons and industry with China.
  24. Turn 4. A Chinese army dies (second, I think). Since Carverrt plays aggressivly, I expected and am getting high losses on both sides. It's ok as long as I can keep from losing units. Several of my Japanese have to repair, but I have Chengchow with 8 strength and 0 entrenchment. A couple of the Chinese corps have a litte damage as well. Even though my losses are high, I bank on all the Chinese money going toward repairs, thus keeping him from getting the all important inf. weapons research started. I would say I'm on schedule in China at the moment. In the west, belgium falls and the Graff Spee makes a port call off the cape of good hope. @Seamonkey I hope the brits do come, more fodder! If I were allied, the morale hit would not entice me to lose British units. p.s. if someone can tell me how to do screen shots, I can start including them.
