Cell has only one general purpose processor, with 7 (or 8) specialized cores. If one writes code for which those cores are suitable, then the Cell is a better processor. However, as a general purpose processor, it doesn't have the great advantage that some have claimed....

Hello all. I am still having problems where the game hangs so hard that I have to turn my computer off to restart. I also have the problem reported earlier that, when I mute all sound, during a battle the sounds (plane crashes and pilot sounds) slowly turn themselves on. The crash always occurs as a sound is about to play. Any help?

I am having the same problem. I turn off all the sound, and yet diring battle the pilot and explosion sounds start returning intermittently. This is a problem because, for some reason, the sounds cause my machine to hang after a while. Turning them off helps, but as they return, the chance that my machine will hang HARD increases....

Correct, this is in the local game... I think that I have fixed the problem. I uninstalled the Microsoft Net 1.1 that I had on my computer and installed the version that came with the demo. Now, everything seems to be working fine, but this is definitely strange.....

Hello! I was trying the demo today. It starts up fine and, upon selecting a local game, it lets me select a pilot. Then, I get pictures of the two planes and my system locks hard...to the point where I have to power off. It did let me play once, but then when I tried to start another local game, the demo locked again. Any help would be appreciated. I would like to get the game, but I want to make sure that the game works on my system first.....
