  1. Good gawd...I'm getting old.

I inverted the mouse so left clicking did nothing!

I thought Invert Mouse referred to mouse movement, not mouse buttons

You might want to make that clear for the us thick people!

I did get a nice big fact hard reboot crash though, so I'll leave this one to settle.

  2. When I was in the settings, I changed the resolution to 1280x1024 then went through the other tabs. When I got to the end and clicked Apply, I was presented with a box saying I had to restart the game...but I couldn't click on the OK button, even though it "highlighted" when my mouse was over it.

Nor could I select any of the other settings or tabs from that point, even though every object I moved the mouse over highlighted.

I eentually had to ALT-TAB out of it and end the task in Program Manager.

  3. The new gear is called PECOC - note the colours of the disruptive pattern on the load carrying gear. That's hybrid DPM and is apparently common to all climates. The helmet shown there is apparently a developmental design and will not be deployed. Given the CM:SF timeframe they should be Mk6a helmets.

What do you think is wrong with the helmets in game?

Well, they look too short at the back. In fact, they do look like they've been modelled on the new gear as per the pic supplied.

I thought the British Helmets were more like the US ones (of course, it's been 19 years since I was in the military...so I might not know what the hell I'm talking about.)

They just don't look like I remember.

  4. Also another great book written by a former SAS Blade, John Geddes, Highway to Hell, is a great read on the state of PMC actions around the world. He talks a lot about his time in the Blades and the work they did. Highly recommend!

I just read a book by John Geddes on Parachute Regiment in action in Goose Green, of which he was part.

It was ok...typical para propaganda (I did expect it tbh...I'm not a virgin when it comes to reading books on The Parachute Regiments), but it was a decent read.

  5. Sorry, but I'm not understanding the patch info. It seems you've tried very hard to make it as understandable as possible, but I'm confused.com.

I have the Gamersgate version of the game and the Marines module from Battlefront.

My confusion stems from this description of the 1.11 patch for the gamersgate version...

The following patch is ONLY for the Gamersgate download version of the game and ONLY if you have no other module installed

My bold....no other module installed? As I stated, my game is from Gamersgate with the Marines module from Battlefront...therefore a module. The game shows 1.10 when I load it.

Does this mean that I am NOT to install the patch? If so, is there no 1.11 patch for Marines?

    Thx

  6. Is there any reason why my M1A1s (and other tracked vehicles) appear to NOT want to go through a little wood?

It's very annoying watching my M1A1 get taken out because I didn't hand hold it...before I'm shot, I would like to point out that I expect to some hand holding of units through towns, but a wood? Surely they should be ploughing through?

  7. Re-opening this because I just experienced it again with a saved game.

I do have a save if you want it, but switching shadows off brings the units back. However, that means I can't play with shadows on, which takes away from the realsitic feel of the battlefield.

Is there a fix for this as yet?

    I am using 180.48 on a nVidia 8800GT OC2 512MB card Windows XP SP3

  8. Recently I purchased another copy of CM:SF Marines by accident.

I posted in the forums and was told I could just "give" the licence to someone else and they can download the game and install it.

But it appears I have not been sent an email with the licence number on it, so don't know what it is.

I have checked my junk mail from Sunday onwards and there is nothing there either.

Can someone look into this for me please?

    Thx

  9. I'm playing one of the Semper Fi missions called Battle for Objective Pooh.

As I was progressing, it suddenly went from dark to light and, as it did so, I noticed one of my units disappearing right under my nose. I was sneaking them forward to a building under cover fire from an LAV(??) and when it went light, they just disappeared!

As soon as I saw this, I inspected the rest of the battlefield and noticed another unit, over to the west of the map had disappeared. No sign of them at all and there were no enemies around them immediatly prior to the switch to daylight.
