  1. I had no tanks, no arty (well one set or was it two of mortars) and just the two Harriers. Moving to occupy the high ground on the "left" of the AOE helped bring down machine gun fire but it still worked out as a slugging match and the second time I played in instead of a disaster I had a "no-one won".

I'd go at it again, but the BRITISH HAVE ARRIVED!!!

  2. I think the bright red icon shows which unit your selected blue unit has LOS on. LOS is not quite LOF but its close enough.

If an enemy magically appears you can also click on their icon to see which Blue unit icon will go bright. That's an easy way to discover which of your units spotted them.

Okay thanks. So how do I get LOF then?

  3. Stupid question but I've become so hung up on the game I'm dammed if I can remember a basic rule!!!!

At beginner level if my squad can see an enemy but the enemy icon is NOT BRIGHT RED, can they fire on it?

If they can what's the point of showing bright red?

    I know, but I've forgotten.

  4. "when you made it through pooh, you should handle milk run easily!

Yeah right :-) When I arrived I had no artillery, minimal Mortars and the two Harriers. The Harries were useful (British design y'know!) but couldn't kill everything.

The tanks never arrived and I suffered 80% losses.

    Advice?

  5. I have never seen CAS in a QB. Artillery yes, CAS, no. British module must be about...oooh.... 6 weeks away according to Meach's mental ability to pluck random numbers, guesswork and wishful thinking.

    Air support - dammit.

"Random numbers and wishful thinking" - that's good enough for me. So about 23rd April - St.Georges' Day Great. <g>

  6. WOW you met Jim Dunnigan! My Personal Wargaming hero! Glad to have you on the forum....

I knew Jim, Dave Isby, Redmond and Al Nofi (the anti-English "noted ACW Historian" <to quote from S&T>). I was a frequent visitor to all of them in New York almost up to the end. (sob...) Really nice people, apart from Nofi, oh and Edi Birsan too. (REALLY nice chap.)

I turned down the S&T agency in the UK (Duh!)

Then again I also knew Gary Gygax, so it evens out :-)
