  1. Madmatt, you got me beat. In my prime I had the CH joystick & throttle gameport version & had everything programmed, it was awesome! ...then of all the crummy luck, I had a roof leak, it leaked into the throttle which caused everything to malfunction. I tried "fixing" the gear by spraying some radio shack TV Tuner cleaner (what was recommended for pots) into it. Everything was totally screwed after that. CH products are good (when they're not destroyed!) I might be interested in buying your old rig in a few months...(wife's a little mad at me at the present time for my current obsession with these tanksims). I'll let ya know.
  2. Oh yeah, I wanted to add that some modern high-end PCs don't have chipset drivers for Win98. And there's this little problem with large amounts of RAM in Win98.... http://support.microsoft.com/kb/q253912/ I've tried those "workarounds"...they don't work!
  3. OK, my wife's not speaking to me right now but I managed to get that "victory" sign after finally working on it for about an hour! Ah, a few flowers ought to take care of it.
  4. Hey guys, I am the king of dual-booting & triple booting! I am running a fully DOS functional P4 system. Soundcard works, old gameport joystick works, P4 speed! The ES 1371 PCI soundcard with DOS drivers is the key piece of hardware. I've also got XP set up along with DOS (for AF1 & AF2) I've got DOS, Win98SE, and WinXP set up on my older slower machines with less than 512 MB RAM. Win98SE has problems with RAM over 512. (FWIW, DOS only recognizes 64MB.) I've done 3d benchmark tests on the same machine (one of the ones with under 512MB RAM) under XP and 98SE and compared them. To my surprise, the tests under XP displayed faster performance. I just thought I'd throw those facts into the discussion! [ December 12, 2005, 08:43 PM: Message edited by: Armored Fist 1994 ]
  5. Thanks, Pandur. I'm zooming in on what I think are targets, but aren't having any luck with any mission other than driving. Believe it or not, I'm actually looking forward to reading the manual of this PC game!
  6. Do you have to stay in that firing position, or can you move closer?
  7. Fellas, thanks for the information. Yes, I had the older demo, the default is joystick off. In the v1.3 demo it is enabled and "reversed" by default. Madmatt, you are correct. Thanks. Everything in my v1.3 demo works OK on my P4 1.8, ATI Radeon 9250, 1GB RAM machine. I just ordered the game, so now I'm officially a customer! I'm looking forward to reading the manual & getting into the sim.
  8. Tanker, I can't seem to find that invert joystick axis setting! Maybe I'm playing an older version of the demo. I'll keep working on it.
  9. Thanks Moon. I haven't been able to spend much time with T-72 yet. The stick is "reversed" though for elevation. Is there a way to change it?
  10. OK..I've downloaded the demo, worked through driving and just started trying to learn basic gunnery. Here's the stupid question: Does T-72 support a joystick? I can't get the stick to control anything in the demo. What the heck?!
  11. Thanks for the info, guys. I'm probably going to go with something standard and not too expensive from Best Buy. Do you guys really just use the keyboard & mouse? I really get into the SB gunnery range with a joystick...I just need a new one. (the hand station in my Bradley was a joystick & that SB tank range brings back memories.) Thanks for the link & replies
  12. I like the joystick so I don't have to look at the keyboard. It's also used in the gunner's station in most of my sims.
  13. Fellas, I need some help. What joystick are you guys using with this sim? I'm in need of a new stick and T-72! The Logitech Extremeâ„¢ 3D Pro Joystick caught my eye because of the programmability. I like programming my sticks for basic functions like: Lining the turret to the gun to face the enemy, popping smoke grenades, calling arty, air, etc. Please let me know what you're using. Thanks.
  14. I guess the silence means there's no force feedback support. It's not a necessity, actually if T-72 doesn't support it, I'll get a stick without it & will probably have to spend less $$$.
  15. Hey!!! Wait a minute! How come I've never heard of Muzzel Velocity???!!! It looks cool from what I've seen on mobygames.com!!!
  16. Hey Fellas, Does T-72 support Force-Feedback joysticks? I play the older tank sims with the pre-usb sticks. I want to get T-72 and preferably a new joystick to go with it and am considering a force-feedback stick. I love the demo. Thanks for making this game. It looks like a great entertainment product!
  17. The original Armored Fist had drivable versions of the T80 and BMP-2. I've played and beaten that game about 100 times over the past 10 years. There has been NOTHING else with modern Russian tanks since then...now, FINALLY there's something out there to take it's place!...cool! The demo is awesome! Even though I'm only getting 3FPS, I still love it. Hardware will only get better in the years to come. Great game!
  18. I'm only getting 3FPS on an ATI Radeon 9250 PCI 256MB. PIV - 1.8Ghz, 512MB RAM. This machine won't run BF2 and runs T72 at the low frame rates. It is because of the PCI bus. Hardware will only improve. Great game!
