Yeh!.... I remember that newsreel footage of a Panther hit in the streets of Koln (Cologne) flames gush out of the comanders cuppola, I mean its like a pressure cooker... After the flames settle a crewmember actually gets out... albeit - hairless and I am guess burnt like a lobster! I think i remember seeing another one of a soldier thrown clear of the turret when his tank was hit... he lost a leg in the process...!

Fingers crossed for OFFICERS also....

I bloody well hope not...!!! Its getting to the stage where we will have to execute the majority of 10 - 18 year olds as their the ones these tragic games are aimed at... No target audience, therefore no genre... If TOW grows to have all the options people are asking for then it could be potentially BRILLIANT!!!

I held out great hopes for Officers... Large maps, lots of units... map-editor/maker But I saw some recent pics with what looked like..... Health Bars... for tanks...! This combined with the total... and I mean TOTAL lack of info on the game for well over a month now makes me thinks its dead in the water... Correction, its capsized!

Same here... 5 very long years...But the best thing to happen to it has been that they've linked up with Battlefront.com At least we can trust these guys not to produce the same un-realistic drivel that so many game companies put out nowadays... Aimed at young whipper-snappers that just wanna blow the crap outta anything and dont mind ---- HEALTH BARS.... (ala that SAMMY_DAVIS_JNR kid hanging around) Oooooh! makes me shudder just saying health bars. First and foremost Battlefront listen to their community and aim for realism (with a little fun thrown in for good measure)

Just exactly how realistic is SHOWW2 ??? I highly doubt it...!

Thing is ive heard that this faces of war game limits you to 12 units - people per mission... Its turned into commando type game...! Not worth modding imo!!! Im interedted in 'OFFICERS' this game has potential other than the fact the developers have gone AWOL for the last month... no action at the website at present... Have great expectations/hopes for this game... Hopefully a Scenario/map maker will be and add-on in the future and that map sizes can be increased in size...

Any idea when a possible list of units will be posted...? when this game was announced it said unit list coming 'soon'!!! I assume any longer and you could change that to 'maybe'. Are their unit types such as Fallschirmjäger and units?

Im trying to put this into a classification of a combination of Close Combat and Combat Mission... The Close Combat likeness being that its smaller in scale (in terms of units on the field) and You cant edit the maps... I loved the Early CC games so im sure ill definitely buy this, all the while longing for a game map/scenario editor... Sigh!!!

Couldnt agree more... As I posted in the other forum... Replayability with a map/editor - scenario/campaign maker is a must! Otherwise it becomes just another WW2 RTS. Sure it may be new and fun for a few weeks but then its gets old and tired when your forced to play the same maps over and over! Its the replayability that gives a game longevity and keeps a community of gamers together and therefore want to buy a company's titles over and over coz they know that they deliver... And BATTLEFRONT are one of the very few company's that do just this...! Heres hoping...!

Oh! I agree... The game looks really pretty. But for replayability I want an editor, I prefer to make my own missions/campaigns from hitorical books, pics, maps etc... Ill probably still get it... I had my eye on this one a long time ago and never thought it would ever come out...

But with no map editor/maker and scenario maker I wont buy it... I will buy OFFICERS however which has all of the above...

I downloaded the CMBB demo and installed it... When I try to run the game clicking on the desktop icon it goes to to a plack screen with the little blue Screen box saying 'Frequency Overange'....? Why is this... I run Windows XP Home... I have the screen refresh rate at 100hz It doesnt matter what resolution I change to e.g. 800 x 600 what is the problem...?

CM depicts the Waffen-SS does it not? It also shows the swastika (hakenkreutz) does it not?... That in itself is offensive to some... If there are those that dont like it, then stay away from my posts so you wont be subjected to looking at my name (oh how painful that must be, would you like a tissue?). Im not changing it based on one or two persons having an issue with it based on them feeling hard done by coz they are canadian or whateva! He was a soldier in the Waffen-SS and as no-one can prove different he wasnt responsible for any warcrimes nor was convicted of any... So end of story! Again I fail to see where I came out an called him my hero! But then again there are those out there (namely yourself) who have an aim in life, to be a TOOL!!!

For the record I wasnt justifying the shooting of prisoners nor that there should be no rules and guidelines (e.g. Geneva convention). I was simply stating that if you think that in a war these thing wont happen on both sides (with emotions running so highly) then that is ignorance! And to name-bash an only focus on one side for their wrong-doings is also ignorant... But all this to some is going to sound like im defending what the Waffen-SS did at their worst!
