  1. Try again, and there is a new version of the battle in the escenario depot (SCW_EB_Quatre_Camins), the first one was a little easier than I pretended
  2. I see.. Europe's Peaks ! LiƩbana... nice landscapes I'll be putting information on my scenarios, including maps, at http://academycm.mybesthost.com/escenarios/index-en.html
  3. CMAK terrain is definitely more close to the real terrain, a semi-arid area with patches of mediterranean woods, olives and vineyards. Vineyards are very common in the area. To sum up, I think CMAK brings a look&feel more appropiate for most of Spain. The north is quite different, however. By the way, a beta tester found Quatre Camins easy so I recommend you to give the AI some advantage.
  4. oh yes, I missed to mention important things in the first upload of the scenario, and I couldn't edit it so I uploaded it again, but I was in a hurry and I made some mistakes in the scenario specification. Anyway, both versions contain the same version of the operation. You can obtain more information and view some maps about the operation here: http://academycm.mybesthost.com/escenarios/villalba.html I hope you like it, I made a great effort to obtain a very realistic map. I really got much fun playing it, though I've made some changes, so I don't know whether it is balanced now or not.
  5. Interesting action ! spanish paratroopers !! I've never heard about it.
  6. I'll be pleased to help you guys with any English-Spanish or Spanish-English translation
  7. Yes, I mean in the Quinto de Ebro operation, I've forgotten to mention it. I can't believe a Spaniard gave you such a term, unless he was pulling your leg . "Plaza de toros" is the common term in Spanish for bullring, just try to find "Anillo de toros" in google and then "Plaza de toros" . I'll try that operation when I had some free time, I'm so busy testing my own scenarios and operations... [ January 18, 2005, 08:28 AM: Message edited by: magomar ]
  8. The first flag is ok, but I don't know about the second one.. Hans, I enjoyed your scenario Republicano Ridge, good idea and design, balanced and funny !. By the way, I think you've translated Bullring to "Anillo de toros", while the Spanish term is "Plaza de Toros" [ January 17, 2005, 02:57 PM: Message edited by: magomar ]
  9. Ohh yeah! there was problems with the name, and the rar extension is not supported, but it stills fails so I uploaded the scenario to the Scenario Depot, in zip format, I think it's finally working. Here is the link: http://www.dragonlair.net/combatmission/review03.php?UniqueID=845&Name=SCW+-+Ebro+Battle+-+Quatre+Camins&g=4

  11. If you like, we can cooperate to build an scenario. I have the materials required to build maps located in the area where the Ebro battle took place. So, if you are interested in some operation in the area, please let me know and I'll be pleased to help. We can cooperate to make the scenario togheter, for example, I can build the map and you can build the OOB and the operation briefing. Ohhhh, after reading the article on soviet tank operations in Spain, by Steven J. Zaloga, I started thinking about an scenario covering that action, then I saw you were working on it. I'm sorry you can't complete it due to AI unappropiate behavior.
  12. The links are right, really, but very offten when you try to access the file from the scenario depot, you get that hosting page, probably because the response time for my site si too slow. So, you can try this link http://academycm.mybesthost.com/escenarios/downloads/SCW%20Quatre%20Camins.rar
  13. Strange, anyway, I've uploaded it again in rar format and I think it works ok now by the way, I've uploaded it to the Scenario Depot so I encourage you to get the scenario there, you can find it using the keywords "Ebro Battle". [ January 13, 2005, 09:10 AM: Message edited by: magomar ]
  14. Hi, here it comes, my first scenario on the SCW A nationalist assault against republican fortified positions near Villalba dels Arcs, during the third counter-attack of the nationalist during the battle of the Ebro river. August 19, 1938. http://academycm.mybesthost.com/escenarios/downloads/SCW%20Quatre%20Camins.cme This is a beta version of the first scenario I decide to share with the community, suggestions and comments are welcome.
  15. I'm currently developing some example scenarios and gathering information to organize the campaign. My willing is to use the CMMC meta-campaign rules, but in my Spanish CM-community there are a lot of people with little or no knowledge of English, so it can be hard work to translate the CMMC rules. Furthermore, there are few people interested in the SCW , so I'm not sure whether to go on with my project or not. I'll keep you informed.
  16. Hi, my original idea was to develop maps sizing 2x2Km for the campaing, but I will reduce those maps to build some scenarios. I think a medium battle that could fit your requirements is the Cuatro Caminos scenario, a Nationalist assault with 1 batallion and some tanks. The scenarios are not finished yet, since I've been rather experimenting. Now, I think my mapping skills are mature enough, so I'm planning to publish a collection of scenarios and operations very soon. I'll inform you, and the briefings will be both in English and Spanish
  17. Hi, Some months ago I begun reading some books concerning SCW military campaigns such as Madrid and the Battle of the Ebro (Batalla del Ebro). I got so impressed that I decided to consider the feasibility of a multiplayer campaign dealing with Battle of the Ebro. First of all, I studied whether could I develop realistic maps. After initial frustrations for the enourmous task I was dealing with, I've developed a methodlogy that allows the creation of very realistic maps with low effort. I've developed a tutorial on this methodology, but it is only in Spanish, currently. Nevertheless, you could probably get an overall idea of what I'm doing by looking at it, since there are tons of images ilustrating the methodology. The url is http://academycm.mybesthost.com/maps-tutorial/ you can see some screenshots of the resulting maps here http://academycm.mybesthost.com/maps-tutorial/screenshots.htm http://academycm.mybesthost.com/maps-tutorial/screenshots2.htm http://academycm.mybesthost.com/maps-tutorial/screenshots3.htm The first scenarios are not very detailed, but the last scenarios I'm developing are quite detailed, I think. I'm using topographic maps as well as orthophotographs I was waiting to announce that activities here, but Propugnator, from the Punta de Lanza spanish CM-community, told me about somebody looking for maps or help to build maps on the SCW topic. So I've decided to make you, and the other people following that topic, aware of my work. I'd be please to begin a fruitful collaboration with anybody interested on the SCW, and very particularly in the "Batalla del Ebro" campaing Nice to meet you [ January 05, 2005, 07:49 AM: Message edited by: magomar ]
