crap game?!?!?!?!
its 1 of the best games ive ever played, and ive played alot. i was making a comparison kuni.
reviews do not do it justice.
i designed and built super carriers. i designed and produced my own fighters, bombers and other ships, plus i really took the war to the enemy. i was actually very suprised that the war ended so quick. i thought it would last until at LEAST 44 or 45.

it is an older game so its hard to find but dont listen to the reviews its a great game
this post will probably be locked soon
let it be known that its not my intention to draw attention away from SC2 as i am almost to the point of dreaming about playing it.

TO add, LOOK AT Masters of Orion III
Need I say more. I'd rather not see SC2 if it had the issues that game had.
MOO3 was a disaster but actually more time would not have helped. They fundamentally ignored all the good UI and design decisions that made the MOO series a classic. In fact, they destroyed the MOO franchise.
Atari did do a project review about a year before release in which they should have killed the project. The game was in deep trouble at the time, overly complex and consumed with trivia that slowed the game terribly. Atari made their second mistake in not only going forward but keeping mostly the same team that got them into the mess in the first place. The team fundamentally didn't understand abstraction for playability's sake. They didn't at all see it as a problem that there was next to no visual feedback of progress until beta testing hit. By then the financial pressure was such that it was really too late to go back to the drawing board again. They had to push it out.
Unlike MOO3, SC2 is a good enhancement of an existing design. Extra time does help here. Hubert understands the balance between abrstraction and playability quite well. And unlike the MOO3 team, he actually did the prior incarnation and so understands the meaning of his franchise better than anyone.
I actually think this is going to be a classic in the genre, tough to beat for a long time. </font>

u put a boat in a convoy lane like in the north atlantic between britain and USA and it takes away sum MPPs or thats how it worked in SC1
as for operational supplies i dunnoo
-
ty
but we all know the game wont suck rambo
its hubert freakin cater!
have faith
-
can u weaken malta by putting a sub line west of it?
-
u know germany came very close to starving em out. at quite a few points britain was down to a cpl weeks worth of food and fuel. the brits were actually going to kill the convoy system which had gotten them out of trounble in the first place
-
yay thank u
too bad u cant starve those limeys out tho loool
-
nuff said lol. in SC the most damage u could do in the atlantic was sink 40 MPPs worth each turn.
can it be done in SC2? (starving britain and starving it to defeat)
-
indeed. i cant find my SC cd however so im stuck with da demo i cant wait to play
-
was just hoping for an estimate. i cant wait to play even the demo
-
thats true. Silent Hunter 3 was delayed almost a year before it finally came out
-
of course. lol but i was hoping for a date
-
ahh yes the editor, forgot about that
-
just a quick question. are the azores and canaries etc modelled and would it be possible to develop a super bomber like the Amerika Bomber that could hit New York etc?
the eventual plan was for the Amerika bombers to be based in the azores or the canary islands i cant remember which
-
dont know if its been asked or not but im dying to know and im sure im not alone
or refer me to a link? pleeeease?

trust me micro managing logistics isnt always fun. try out Matrix Games Uncommon Valor or War In The Pacific. theyre great games but sumtimes logistics is a pain
-
Bird bird bird bird is tha wooooorrrddd
well havent u heard about da bird well everybodys talking about da biiirrrd
-
War In The Pacific by another company is 70$ and it covers the WHOLE Pacific. just cough up da money and preorder SC2!
-
-
can u bomb hexes occupied by enemy units? cuz it made it hard for a strategic bombing campaign to really make a difference wen u could only hit unoccupied citys and ports
-
well do ya want an ironed out game or sumthing like BF2 god forbid lol
-
