    you still making scenarios? Europa?

I had not noticed there was no factory anymore...lol

Yes thats could be missed at times. (a harbour without depots, or barracks without barracks;)

hmm...yes that is a pitty. North Africa didnt have alot of factorys back then, but Italy surely did. gonna have to get around that, somehow...

Why dont u post some of your maps on the proving grounds?...who knowes they might be used...

    Over here theike, over here!

I try to aviod making scenarios these days since I only screw up nice maps by placing units on them. Any unused maps you have you can send me and I'll make nice cutouts, trying to identify normal objectives, and setupzones on them for ya :D

Tell me when you have a good solution for the barrack tiles. I try to use heavy buildings at the moment.

I normally produce a few maps a week, but currently I am having break. As soon as I get a decent number of them I'll post a zip somewhere with them cathegorized after battle type and such.

Send me your first ones when finished with them so i can take a look, ok?

    Cheers!

  2. Hi theike. Glad to see you back.

I support your q. I have 17 unposted maps lying around on my comp.

Are looking forward to see you tackle the CMAK terrain elements. I hate the loss of the factory in favour of the sandbags and the removal of the steppe terrain type, but you can't have it all can you.

    Cheers!

Snipers, and heavy artillery up front, and I'd split some squads for recon right on the front line.

Then I'd follow up with as much armour as one could afford with the remaining points.

What tanks? Heavy or something weak like pzIV?
  4. What I mean is that you may want to place a trench piece in a really narrow patch of open surrounded by paved road/pavement. In order to be able to do so you can place the trecnh so that it overlaps the pavement. You will not do the mistake of putting down trences on paved streets more than once but you will be able easely fit a trench anywhere close to pavement. Hence I find it to be a feature.

  5. Slow RAM (including its bus architecture) makes a big difference in a computer since the processor will have to run empty cycles waiting for the RAM to respond. If you want to test the speed of your processor only write a little program in a language of choice that does 10 different mathematical calculations 10000 times or so.

No date of departure from OOB though. Well, none that I saw just now anyway.

Dates on availability - appearing and disappearing - are listed for ammo types I see.

But what to comment? It's all there really. What more would a QB player consider valuable information Folke?

I for one would love to see comments along the lines of: "Usable in dence terrain but lack in ammo load out" "Fast and manouverable but a bit undergunned" "Avoid this crap despite the big gun" (could be a nashorn although it doesn't reflect my view on that part. unit) "Good bunker buster if you get it within reasonable range (maybe the AVRE?)"

the infantry was in cover (buildings). yes it was the same cover as yours but i'm not sure that makes a difference. plus it was a whole platoon. plus the greens went in first followed closely by two squads of vets. plus they were fresh & hadn't been fired upon. all this coupled with their faith in their general made them hard to pin, therefore your FT's broke & ran.

if i was going to use the FT's individually like that, i'd have had them "hide" by the closest wall to the advance, with a 30m cover arc. that way you get enough cover differential to maybe pin all the attackers. at least to get a couple more bursts off. but generally it's a bad idea to use any unit in a position where it can't be supported.

(i can't find the autobahn map BTW)

My own comp is in limbo at the moment so I can't get to it either :( As soon as I get a new place setup I will send it to you so that we can continue our games :D

    Sorry about that.

  8. After half a bottle of scotch it comes to me. i have never played CMAK as anything else but the germans and the occasional late war brits. So I fire the game up and land in the unit purchase phase. The americans have NOTHING, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING I MEAN NOTHING to choose from. Why do people even try to play with such few options. It's all shermans for christs sake. Or am i missing something here?
