  1. I would prefer a combination of B and A. B in the sense of following the same unit (say, a battalion) from beginning of the A-style campaign to its end. It just reminds me of Band of Brothers (the HBO series, not the website ). If that would happen, then I would really start to remember the names of those Squad leaders and etc, should be a whole lot of fun and really get you immersed (as if what there is now isn't enough ) Now add this to being able to chose the side and then the type of battalion, kind of like in the QB screen (you know, Wehrmacht, Luftwaffe Airborne, etc. and it would be just perfect! Just my enthusiastic 2c.
  2. Hi, I just finished playing the quick version (small, 15 turns) of the Blenheim Blunder. I only managed to get a draw as the allies, as I am not very good at armor battles. I would be most grateful to learn how any of you CM masters out there approached this mission, so maybe I can learn something about the art of armor warfare. My take on this battle was to send the Stuarts to hull down positions near the left VPL, with the Grants staying in the low area just before the abandoned position. I sent one plt of Crusaders up the hill on the right to hull down positions while arraying the 2nd plt on the road to drive to the right VPL. Basically, all my stuarts got plastered very fast by the Panzers, only managing to kill a couple of AC, while my Grants knocked out a couple Panzers before getting KOed. My Crusaders got KOed really fast, accomplishing nothing. In the end, I salvaged a draw only by leaving my second wave of grants (from the re-inf) in place, and shooting from the bottom of the map at the Panzers, while my re-inf of Stuarts and AT towed guns got massacred, causing absolutely no damage. What would be your plan for this scenario? Thanks very much
  3. Hi, I have been playing a QB on PBEM with a friend. I selected a small map, with Americans v. Germans, myself playing the American side. I had Combined Arms and he a Mechanized division. The battle had 300 points, setup as an allied attack. I allowed the computer to chose both sides' troops. This being an allied attack with 300 points, gives me 450 points. However, I received a regular ranger platoon, along with an M3 halftrack. This amounts to 119 points, as I later checked when buying manually. My opponent is now in the midst (turn 19/20) of killing me thoroughly, and as far as I can see he has a Panzer IIC, a Kfz 7/11 flak vechicle, an unknown AT gun, and at least three squads of infantry (I have about 3 more sound contacts. His troops surely mount to more than 119 points, and I should really have 450, not 119 points worth. Is this a bug?, should I stop allowing the computer to purchase units? I quite like the computer picking the units as it allows me to think how to solve the "problem" with the units given instead of getting used to always using the same or similar setup. Thanks, Yair
  4. Just wondering if and when we can expect a strat guide for CMAK. Seems it would be worth buying if only for the unit information, even if one already has the CMBB guide. I, for one, would buy it and I already have the excellent CMBB guide.
  5. Thanks for the help. I used your advice (and the one in the other thread I opened by mistake), and am slowly starting to improve my results. I have a couple more questions though arising from this newfound success. Firstly, now that I am able to get my tanks and TDs into firing position, I find that allied tanks are generally more vulnerable than German tanks. In one case I had two tanks (M1A4) and three TDs (GMC) firing at a Tiger tank and it was able to torch both tanks and one TD before being knocked out itself. Secondly, when assessing LOS from a position intended for a tank, should I be at vieweing level 1 or 2? Thanks again.
  6. Hi, I am new to wargaming in general and to CM in particular, CMAK being the my first experience of the series. Therefore, I am currently trying my hand at the Tiny scenarios, struggling to develop tactics and an understanding of how to run the force. I am already familiar with the interface and variety of commands and my difficulty is really in how to utilize my forces. My question is about the scenario "Clash of the Titans." I have tried it several times, each time losing magnificently (no matter which side I played). This, coupled with the briefing declaring that if I play against the AI, then I should tip the balance of play to its favor, brought me to ask for help. Any advice on how one should approach such a scenario, and/or references to places I can learn more tactics, would be greatly appreciated. Thanks very much!
