  1. I like "Panzer39" idea of having the chance to select your units at the begining. It would make a much more strategic game. Of course each country should have some limits (not only in MPP) in the number of Infantry, Naval units, Air units and Hq, so the game remains with some historicall balance.
  2. Thanks for the information about terrain bonus (it will be useful) but I still thinking there's a problem with entrenchment. To Slapaho: There are a lot of defenses that are not represented in the game (Brest-Livotsk, etc) and I think they should be. It would be great to have an fortification option (you should make fortifications using some MPP.) it would change the game a lot and I think it would be much exciting. ................................................. 3. Last night when I was trying to clear out Crimea I realized that there's something wrong with the entrenchment level. I think it's OK when we are talking about entrenchment in open land but when we talk about it in fortress there's a mistake. For an example let's say I'm playing with the soviets and I have an army or corps in Sevastopol, the germans are attacking it but they grow weaker with every attack they make 'cause they got lower supply or something else... so I decide to kill them after 3 or 4 of their attacks, I make a counter-attack and of course thay are going to fall back to avoid anihilattion and there's when the problem comes up. Should I chase them down? or should I stay in the fortification? In real war I should kill them all but in the game it's a very dangerous action cause when you come back to a fortress your entrenchment is again at 0 (so if I don't kill them in a move I'm going to be in big trouble). It takes 8 turns to achieve maximum entrenchment Does it means they are building up the fortress? that's strange for me. The re-entrenchment value after an attack (1) it's OK because of the repairs and re-building of the defenses, but when you left them they shouldn't come down to 0 (your troops aren't going to destroy your own fortification rings). Another thing it's with forests their maximum entrenchment value should be greater the the open land ones (I think 3 should work well). Thanks you for reading it all and "Perdonenme" for my poor English.............. .................................................. GUNS N' ROSES RULES.
  4. There's a problem with naval command. It's wrong for me not having naval Hq. Of course they shouldn't work like land Hq. I mean, you don't want to take them overseas 'cause that would be ridiculous and very dangerous for them because you never have a "front line" in naval combat. I think they should have a big range of command (like 20 hexes more or less) and they should have to command from land (you'll have to attach them to your naval units manually when they are in port if not they would probably command things you want them to command because of the distance). Like land Hq they would increase readiness but of course they won't give any supply bonus to your ships. ..................................................
  5. Excuse me.... When I said Malta I should have said Gibraltar. I'm under pressure ................................................. GUNS N' ROSES RULES
  6. Of course it depends on your enemy. If your are playing against a human its something unpredictable but when playing against the AI I think the better thing to do is bombing his ports (France or Norway it depends on where he has his air units), researching air upgrades (jet, heavy bombers and long-range) and I also like taking a Hq to Alexandria because I always have three corps there (Syrian (free-french) Alexandria and Malta corps (I protect malta with Algerian corps(f-f)). I left the f-f corps for protection and I use Malta and Alexandria corps supported with a Hq and 1 or 2 air fleets to attack Tobruk I also like to support them with my mediterranean fleet 'cause the Italians always try to counter attack with their fleet using only 1 or 2 ships so you can take them out quite easily. Once you take Tobruk and all the Italian navy Italy becomes a easy target (I suggest bombing Palermo until it is at 30% and then you can make a easy landing and 'cause won't be able to make a operational movement to cover it). It's a pitty that the AI never create an Afrika Korps to give you a true fight. Personally I don't like attacking neutral countries until USSR and USA are on the fight. .................................................. GUNS N' ROSES RULES
  7. I almost forget making a question. When I'm going to become a member? I don't like being a "junior" How many time I have to wait to grow? thanks..
  8. Do you remeber me? Well if you don't i'll tell you that I'm from Uruguay and like you know the Graf Spee it's sleeping in our river, but not for long. The authorities of Montevideo had decided that they are going to (how do you say it...?) take it to the surface. Maybe you are not interesting but I think it's a good new. Thanks for your time. .................................................. GUNS N' ROSES RULES.
  9. Yes, I agree that Finland wasn't a pro-axis country, in fact, they had diplomatic support of England and France against the Russians. Before June '41 the Soviets were pro-axis (really they were pro-soviets and they thought that Germany was a great ally) and after that they entered on the allies hemisphere. Spain was a different thing... Franco was so coward that he didn't support they former friends (axis) instead, he asked Hitler for some territories in North Africa in exchange for his help. But at least the axis made an infantry division in Spain "LA BRIGADA AZUL" Greece wasn't pro-allied, Hitler was going to make a deal with the greeks when the silly Benito told him that Italy was "conquering" Greece. Switzerland and Sweden had axis tendancies (they were the open route to the world for german's products since the British blocked all axis trade)........................................... 11. I've mentioned them because they are (CC3) real time or turn per turn (SAW)
  12. I think the best WW2 game is Close Combat 3 "The Russian Front". Of course it has it's problems like the small scale of the game (you only command Kampgruppes) but it's quite realistic in weapons power and range. It has good videos to see and the maps are realistics (since they are based on aerial photographs) I know that's quite an old game but I haven't played anything better yet. It's envolving (can you say it in that way??) if you don't care that you can't change history (even if you win with the germans on Moscow, the final battle is on Berlín) but I think it's not so bad since you don't control an entire army and so you can't really change history. I've also played "Soldiers at War" and it's quite good despite it's even in a smaller scale and you can only control the silly americans in the campaign. I know this two are oldies but I thought it was good to mention them. THANKS AGAIN FOR THE FORUM/B] ............................................ GUNS N' ROSES RULES
  13. I agree with Dan. I like AI I know that it hasn't developed it maximum level by now but perhaps someday... And I also agree with his schedules problems. I like AI because it doesn't complain about being restarted again and again, I'm not saying I'm a coward, I don't quit games if I'm loosing, that's what makes a game interesting but sometimes I begin a game, play a few turns and then I cannot play it for 10 days or weeks, when I start playing again I'm not interesting anymore on that old (and forgetted) game. I like new blood and I like new frenchies to roll them up with my panzers. Of course I always end games if I have time but sometimes you win them much earlier you finish them (conquering russia with the germans, taking back the germans to warsaw, etc) ................................................ And never forget that GUNS N' ROSES rules
  14. First of all I want to say HELLO and I also want to thank you for this great forum. You will note that my english it's poor but that's because I'm from Uruguay and we speak spanish here. I have somethings to point out of the game, it' a good strategic game but it has several problems with World War history. 1- Where are the artillery teams? I think they should be in the game since they played an important role in the War. For example it would had been imposible for the german's to conquer sebastopol without them. 2- Where are the paratroops teams? One of the most important advantages of the Wermacht was the Fj teams. It's ridiculous to conquer Norway using sea transport. 3- Somethin' that was a "bug" in the first version of the game was the infantry defense of the tanks group, this skill increased when you reasearch "heavy tanks" and this was "fixed" but I think it was a "bug" to "fix" this "bug" because I don't believe that infantry could take over a Mark 3h o a Pz-38 like to a Tiger or a Panther. 4- The research skill for infantry should be "infantry weapons" not only "AT-weapons" because really they don't only developed bazookas, panzerfausts or ptrd rifles, they also developed the MG-42 (the best heavy machine-gun world has ever seen) the Gew-43, the FG-42, MP-43 (I'm not going to list everyone but they were a lot) and so, infantry should get an increased skill on infantry attack and defense. 5- I think that russians may not have Hq teams until you are nearly Moscow or until they are heavily hurted. I had played the game as Allied and I had noticed that if you "buy" Zhukov's Hq (or someone else) you can stand the german's charge quite easy. And talking about history again, Stalin left his troops on their own telling them to avoid provoking the german's during the first weeks of the german's advance. 6- Why it's imposible to transport my rockets teams over sea? They are useless unless you have developed level 3 or more. And it's ridiculous that the germans and soviets have the same level. Come on, russians knowed rockets as I know english (I mean nothing at all). I think germans should start with level 2 not 1. 7- The interest in war of soviets it stupid. They were not prepared for nothing before 1944, Stalin was making changes in red army's structures (he eliminated a lot of officials including generals and commanders) and even if you set the initial join value to 0, it starts to go up very quikly after june 1941. 8- If you look to a map you will note that Norway and Finland have a border above Sweden, why aren't they conected? 9- Does Zurich really exists? Come on, I know that Swiss was not an industrial country or something like that but unless they sould have a city. 10- There's a big problem with research and development. Supouse that I have an infantry team on north Afrika (very streched for me) and I research AT weapons, why this team upgrades? I think equipment it cannot be transported magically. The teams should upgrade once they refit in a city with a value of 8 or more. 11- Russians partisans should appear even if the USSR had surrended, otherway if you play like Axis and you conquer the USSR, the game is winned (unless if you are not stupid). 12- I like to go to the beach on summer and I like to fight soviets in winter. WHERE IS THE COLD??? I think germans supply and readiness should decrease quite a lot in winter months when you are in russia except for troops that are ocupping cities. One of the reasons for german's deafeats in Moscow and Stalingrad was the sub-zero weather. 13- ¿What about the Graff Spee and the Bismarck? I think they should appear in the game, of course I'm not saying that Uruguay has to appear (the Graff Spee was sunked here) but unless the Bismarck on the Baltic Sea. 14- This is a question becuase I really not know this, what happened with vichy france once the allied liberated France? Didn't they joined inmediately? I ask you because I'm sure you know. I think I have forgot somethin to point out but I don't realise what so I'm going to end this. Thanks again for the forum and please tell me if someone speaks spanish.
