  1. If there are still slots open please add me to your list. THANKS!
  2. Is there anyway to retrieve a lost password? It opens the door to cheating of course. Maybe Battlefront could do it if they were sent info from both sides including the password from the known side? I've never forgotten one before and all my passwords are recorded now. My opponant was out of town for 3 weeks and the Fog of War has wiped my memory out!
  3. Does that take a CM map file to generate this data or are you starting with an actual map? One way I need to try, is printing out a CM map with elevations on and all cells converted to open ground. Then try and scan it with OCR software and see if I end up with a good text file of the elevations.
  4. It's been a couple years since I've asked this question and I'm hoping for some developments since. Has anyone found an automated way to produce topo maps from the CM files? I've painfully entered cell elevations on small maps into contouring software packages and the results are very nice. Large maps are just too intensive. I've also used paint programs and power point to hand draw contours on a new layer (after using print screen for making a jpg map) which are OK. I sure wish Battlefront would create a way to output grid data into a text file. I'm not a programmer so I can't even think about hacking in to find the data in a table (and BF probably wouldn't like it either).
  5. Eureka!! CMBB looks great! Maybe my Win2000 disk didn't include my NEC 95F so I used the default. Previously, I had ME installed from Alienware all set up from the factory so it included the correct NEC .inf. Bill G. didn't make it too easy to wind my way through the maze I might add. Surprise, surprise! Thanks Schrullenhaft!
  6. That's my normal setting. It ran fine using this monitor over a year ago. I then upgraded MB, CPU, memory, power supply and video card. If Battlefront manufactured CMBB with these issues and earlier video drivers, such as the 3.0.8.7 work, is there a relatively easy way to strip the newest driver out and install the old one?
  7. It is running on a default monitor type already: (Standard monitor types). There is no manufacturer listed. Any other ideas???
  8. I've searched this forum and tried several sugguestions but still cannot get CMBB to work. I use WIN2K and have an Ultra/1300XT (FX5900XT) Golden Sample with 256 DDR. The original driver was a 5.xxx series. The game starts with wide diagonal lines flickering. I did a Print Screen but JPG shows the resolution selection screen correctly so the info is there but the video card isn't producing it correctly for my monitor. NEC AccuSync 95F. After reading this string I went to NVIDIA and updated to 7.1.8.9 Same problem. I tried various refresh rates from 60 to 75, turned off FSAA, all to no avail. I read elsewhere that driver 3.0.8.7 works well. I downloaded it but it won't overwrite 7.1.8.9 Any suggestions? I've about had it. CMAK works flawlessly with any of the changes. Battlefront needs to push a patch to allow CMBB to operate as well. Thanks in advance!
  9. Very nice JonS, a bit tedious but not bad at all. I would be tempted to refine the contours a bit more, perhaps 10m intervals (more work but more telling). Depends what you want, realistic battle map or the best map to help approach unseen. Will be giving this a try. How long would you say you put into the PT238 topo map? Thank you very much for sharing.
  10. Your idea works somewhat. Still nothing is better than contour lines on a contour map. Legally, only Battlefront (or somebody they sold the rights to) could penetrate the games code to output the contour matrix, contour the this output, and display/print a map. It's not a matter of 'need' it's a matter of want.
  11. I am looking for a tool that would take a CM map and output a contour map. You can do it manually but it's very tedious to enter the elevation of each block. Planning missions/movements with a better understanding of the terrain would be great. Ideally, this tool could be produced by Battlefront quite easily.
  12. I didn't have any antivirus loaded yet. I ended up loading the minimum and then adding all the files from my previous install at high including all the mods. Sure am glad I kept those on the other drive. It seems to work fine. Although I now have flickering with some of the white letters but not too annoying. I've played with the hertz setting to no avail. Same hardware just went from ME to Win2000. Bill Gates, ya gotta love em, NOT.
  13. I've been playing CM mission for a couple years but upgraded to Win2000 today and the Full Version won't load only the Minimum Version. I keep getting a cyclic redundancy error while the Medium Version 00000510.WAV file tries to load which instantly stops the upload. Any ideas
