  1. Based on my expeirence you made a very sound decision by staying with your ti4600.......I recently purchased a fx5600 ultra.....according to it specifications it should be faster and more powerful than any of the ti's model.....it is not!!! the original card I was replacing was a ti4400.....though I did a couple of benchmarks just to do it offically for myself.....I could tell before hand the obvious difference....something just is not right with the new nvidia chipset....especailly considering the old ti chipset out performs it....the only thing that makes me apprehensive about going to ATI is all of the nightmare stories I have read about thier cataylst drivers....where as detonators have always been very stable and efficent.
  2. It was kind of odd ....for me anyway...havent had a game where I can recall that the desktop resolution to be the limiter of in games resolution.....anyway thank you for the information....now if I could only figure out all of the commands..lol
  3. Just bought the game,CMBO, and I know this is a older title....therefore it has somewhat dated graphics....don't get me wrong here I like this game......but it look like mud set a 800x600 resolution....yet I did a search on this forum for the topic " resolution" among other topic headings in hope of finding some information pertaining to possible visual tweeks & resolution change....came across someone stating that they changed thier game resolution to "1024 x 768", well when I start up the game the only possible resolution options that I'am allowed are "800x600/720x576/640x480", this is with a 19" misubitishi monitor NEC/ AMD XP2400+/ Nvidia2 8x mobo/ 768ddram (pc3200)/ fx5600ultra 128mb.....so how can I change my resolution to that high of an setting? and are there any general visual improvement tweaks for this games engine?...thank you. 5. Umm...I'am new here so just wanted to get that out of the way....getting older and the fps genres are are also getting old....so I just bought this game....seems pretty good, I like how it is based off a different system than die, ah fuzy logic isn't it called right?...well whatever makes the expeierence a little less predictable or less like a game of rock-paper-scissors. Ahhh those cards you fellas are talking about...the fx5200....I owned this card for about a week before returning it...it is a dog...not that it is a bad card for the price but it is the equilivent of the mx4 series with "very" minimal performance gains despite all the fluff that is printed on it's box...and as I understand it is the replacement for the mx series, I have a Visiontek GF4Ti4400...and it has been a very good card but I decided to upgrade to a faster card for the forementioned fps I use to play, so I went out and bought a PNY FX5600 Ultra, it has a 256bit memmory bus with 128mb ram.....and guess what?, my ti4400 eats it for lunch in bench mark test, granted it does have some new features and capabilities, it is according to the manufactures specification runs at a faster clock speed 400mhz versus that of the ti4400 which is 325mhz, but yet when it comes down to pure rendering speed and stability the old gf4 out performs it.....that may soon change....the nv30? chipset is new and with time new detonators should be able to pull more out of the fx series cards or so I expect this to be the case.
