  1. June 29, 1941: Time to retreat in the Med again - 5 german AFs in Sicily now. Only the 2 Vichy ships go on kamikaze Mission near Sicily, damaging a corps transport. The landed german corps near Algier is reduced to str 1. German air appears in Paris.
  2. June 15, 1941: - Bergen abandoned - German air reveals LR lv 1 RN didn´t flee, they only waited near Gibraltar for a good opportunity : Allied Med task force attacks (no carriers, since 4 german AFs are in Sicily), destroys 2 italian battleships and damages the last one. Algier reoccupied and defended by 2 allied corps.
  3. March 30, 1941: Retreat was the right decission: 4 german airfleets were placed in southern Italy. They destroy the allied corps in Sicily and reconquer it. Vichy under attack, corps from Marseilles evacuated - 2 additional ships for Allies Germany developes jets lv 2.
  4. March 2, 1941: Both sides retreat in the Med - german airfleets in Italy suspected.
  5. January 5, 1941: - Romania joined - UK developed jets lv 1 last turn - Bergen liberated - Brest abandoned, too many german air in the vicinity - Italian ships move around Sicily and surround the port Allied forces start an offensive in the Med: Italian cruiser and sub sunk, army transport heavily damaged. Empty city of Tripoli occupied. One german airfleet intercepting.
  6. Yep, right CT, wrong AAR - I just copied them over and deleted it here
  7. August 18, 1940: Evacuation successful, only 4 french units in and around Paris - since Paris is entrenched lv 3 it can survive one more turn with some luck. Sub raiding near Malta attacked - UK reveals longrange lv 1. September 1, 1940: 3 french units destroyed, only the entrenched army in Paris still alive - it counterattacks and reduces a german army to str 1. French ships make a last kamikaze attack on a german airfleet and army at the coast. September 29, 1940: France surrendered but Brest and Bordeaux occupied by UK. October 27, 1940: Allies abandon Bordeaux, but UK forces take the empty Sicily as a compensation

  12. August 3, 1940: Air attacks reduce Paris entrenchment - evacuation procedure started: UK corps and french units operate/move to ports. German cruiser reinforced to 11 again, but this time he gets destroyed by 3 UK ships. German navy is no more.
  13. July 21, 1940: A german tank reaches the outskirts of Paris and gets attacked, but survives at str 3 - heavy losses for 3 french armies. The german cruiser in Kiel gets reinforcements to str 11, but 3 UK battleships reduce it to str 2 again (GLR + experience helps a lot ).
  14. Reinforcing around Paris. Germany removes the training object from Kopenhagen, so french navy goes kamikaze attacking the german ships in port. The str 3 cruiser didn´t repair, so it gets destroyed. The other one reduced to str 6 (thanks to some Gun laying radar for the british battleships ).
  15. For some basic informations about SC multiplayer and also the bid system read (first post, bid system explained at the end): http://www.battlefront.com/cgi-bin/bbs/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=18;t=002198
  16. Axis turn 3: England leaves France alone in its fight against Germany - no UK forces in France. So Germany makes a breakthrough and advances until 2 hexes to Paris. Denmark not reinforced, so it surrenders too this turn. In the Atlantik a UK battleship is sunk - subs hiding and raiding.
  17. Axis turn 2: LC and Poland surrender. Kopenhagen under attack.
  18. June 23, 1940: Ireland surrenders, Kopenhagen bombarded. Germany is not advancing where they just killed again the defenders - so still 3 hexes to Paris. Germany developes jets lv 1. Allied command estimates Germany has now used up a good part of the luck they can have during a war... very good combat results each turn, Warsaw turn 1 and researching jets very early with 3 HQs and 5 airfleets in the field - so probably only 1 research chit. But doesn´t matter - Germany waited too long with attacking LC . [ August 15, 2004, 10:11 AM: Message edited by: Terif ]
  19. June 9, 1940: German lead tank at the coast moved too fast into enemy territory, so it was without HQ support and got destroyed. Sub sunk near Denmark, german corps in Kopenhagen under naval bombardement.
  20. Yes, loosing all airfleets is usually a turning point in every war - the same would be true if you loose most of your ground units - or simply have a look at how many mpps you loose with your air . As said, you need a certain amount of air to make breakthroughs and to support an offensive. If axis foolishely battle against superior enemy air (especially in France..) and looses their airfleets, then they have lost at this front. When the enemy has achieved air superiority at both fronts game is usually over. And especially when a player invested most of his mpps in air, game is over for him when he looses them. A player with a more balanced approach still has his ground forces and besides, he usually will not send his air into hopeless battles like the ´air only´ players usually tend to in order to keep air superiority at all costs . The problem of an ´air only´player is, he has to keep air superiority at both fronts or he will be steamrolled by the enemy ground forces since he has not enough own units for defence. But to be superior at both fronts is usually not possible between equal players . Concerning tech: Yes, if the axis player doesn´t know how to use this no tech situation and how to react, there is no problem. But Germany simply has to place 5 AFs + HQ in France and game is over for Allies since they will not be able to kill the german air and can not land with transports. In contrary, Germany has no problems removing the UK mpps by forcing intercepts - since they don´t have to fear to loose their AFs in a counterattack. BTW: carriers start without experience and can only collect experience at Ireland and when the enemy allows it. So since they can not train in France they will never reach 4 stars - 1-2 stars are more likely. So since they have not much experience (and no tech) they can not kill enemy airfleets, and since western Allies can´t kill the enemy air they can´t achieve air superiority and their carriers can´t collect experience... 21. Sorry Blashy, but SC is not about air - you can´t neglect your air, but neither can you neglect your ground forces. You need a certain amount of AFs that´s true - (the same applies for ground units ), but if you buy too much you will certainly loose against an equal opponent who follows a more balanced approach. This wrong believe that air is everything is one of the main reasons people loose their games . Air is simply (mpp-)ineffective against ground units if you want to kill them only with air. And playing without tech: In this case Allies (not Russia, but western Allies)have a huge disadvantage. Axis don´t need tech and can easily play without, but Allies do need it: 1. to make their main weapon the carriers effective - they are inferior in mpps, but they have the better weapons later in the war: ships and carriers, but only with tech. 2. to be able to kill enemy airfleets (they need at least lv2-3 jets to do so). Without tech they can only achieve a 1:1 mpp exchange, but since Axis has more mpps, Allies are lost without tech. 3. And worser: without beeing able to kill the enemy AFs in France, they simply can not make a successful D-day. Their advantage in 1942/43 in France is, that they have geographical the better positon and their carriers can now fight against AFs - so they can take enemy air into crossfire and kill them - but only when they reached Jets lv 2-3+ and if possible longrange lv 1. Summary: Play without tech and Allies will have a huge problem.
  22. May 12, 1940: Some nasty german soldiers drinking french whine were thrown out of the country. French soldiers wanted to keep it for themselves, so they were motivated for a counterattack . German corps killed in the first Bloodhex. Again no german feet on french soil. French ships follow the fleeing german navy and reduces the sub to str 5.
  23. April 14, 1940: France still occupies a LC hex. 3 french ships move north and encounter the german navy: Scharnhorst reduced to str 3.
  24. Allied turn 6: French forces occupy the 2 open LC hexes S and SW of Brussel. Naval bombardements all along the coast - including a tank sitting at the coast in Denmark. Italy will only join when german forces reach Paris since Allies didn´t move their Med units .
  25. Allied turn 5: Allies are waiting for german soldiers, but they don´t come. So french forces are sitting in their country drinking wine and eating cheese until they become fat and round and can´t fight any more... But perhaps it is not necessary anyway: every hex between paris and the border is now occupied by a french corps or army
