  1. Thanks for the info Dragon, don't worry there's no rush. smile.gif

    Group standings A

    -Iron 9 points

    -Friendly Fire 3 points

    -xwormwood 3 points

    -Rannug 0 points

If Rannug wins against Friendly Fire, we'll have three players with 3 points! Any suggestions?

    Group standings B

    -Dragonheart 6 points

    -Kuniworth 3 points

    -Orange Devil 3 points

    -kurt88 0 points

First round ends on FEB 1st ! Games not ended by then will be decided by a third party.

  2. I think it would be good if we could connect units to HQs ourselves, but we would probably want the computer to automatically assign where we didn't, otherwise we could spend half of every move assigning and reassigning until we got it right, making online games a bit slow.

Good point Bill, that would indeed be usefull.

And I agree that it should be harder to hit HQ's from the air.Maybe just downright make it impossible.

A SUPPLY MAP would also be helpful, to get a clear view of the supply situation.

  3. They should also be able to purchase additional army and corps units for the minor power allies, perhaps at a higher cost, based on the number of cities in the allied country;

    Yes, agreed.

Alternatively, I suggest that HQs should exert some, albeit reduced, level of C&C for allied units.
    See my post above.

What about conecting units to HQ's ourselves?

  4. The Supply Lines thread got me thinking on how HQ's could be represented in SC2.

Let's say first that HQ's for minor countries like Finland or Spain could be 'bought' with mpp's from majors like Germany or UK. AND that the units from minor countries could benefit from the approriate minor HQ for 100% (considering the nr. of hexes that the unit is seperated from the HQ). Minor units could ALSO benefit from Major HQ's, but only at let's say 50% (considering the nr. of hexes the unit is seperated from the HQ).

IF SC2 would give us a bigger map, the 'visibility' of the supply lines and bonuses could be greatly enhanced.

Korsun Pocket has an interesting feature : a bonus for divisional integrity. Let's say we could form army groups or armies in SC2, consisting of a number of units (armor, infantry, artillery, air?) and then we could select a HQ for each group/army that could give a bonus for cordination among other things.

    HQ rating : 8

    units supplied/bonused : 8

CONSIDERING THE NR. OF HEXES THAT UNIT IS SEPERATED FROM THE HQ

    HQ rating : 4

    units supplied/bonused : 4

    CONSIDERING ...

This could be nicely presented on a SUPPLY MAP.

  5. People, let's get round two started as soon as possible. At least on feb 1st.

If games aren't finished by then a third party will make the call.

Once round two begins the Tourney will be played out quickly.

OD, think you can manage to end our game TCP/IP this week? Let me know.

  6. That's a good question. Hope someone knows the answer to that.

What about mpp resources? If an Italian unit take garisson in Kiev, will the mpp's flow to Italy or Germany?

May sound like a dumb question, but I never really gave it any thought.

  7. Sorry, the only advise I'll give (specfic) is stop partians on turn one. Its you #1 goal.

Yes, this is very important. Still the question remains since I think in this scenario oth strategies can work. Maybe best to discuss it after the Tourney ends, we don't want anyone to give away their plans ;)

    Thanks for the update Ranger.

  8. Germany: You have the opening move, pick a plan and stick with it - pound on the allies as you'll need to keep them down if you wish to control the pace of the game. #1 - make sure you prevent partisans!

What should be the strategy for Axis in the east?

Attack and keep the Russians under pressure or retreat a bit and risk loosing Finland but gobbling up minors?

  9. Standings so far...

    Group A :

    1. Iron Ranger - 6 points, 1 match to play (right?)

    2. Rannug - 3 points, 1 match to play.

    3. xwormwood - 3 points

    4. Friendly Fire - no points.

    Group B :

    1.Dragonheart - 6 points, all games played.

    2.Kuniworth - 3 points, 1 match to play.

    3.Orange Devil - 3 points, 2 matches to play.

4.kurt88 - no points, 1 match to play.

Kurt, let me know if I am holding things up and I will try and move things along via TCPIP
Take your time, but not too long ;)

I was under the assumption that round 1 would involve 2 games against each opponent (1 axis, 1 allied).
Sorry fo the late reply here, but no, 1 game against an opponent is enough.

Round two will go as follows :

    Nr 1 (A) - Nr 2 (B)

    Nr 1 (B) - Nr 2 (A)

Let's hope round two can begin very soon.

  10. We're almost through round one.

My last game is in progress by email. I'll try to finish it as soon as possible.

Could Rannug, xwormwood, Friendly Fire and Orange Devil let us know how they're games are going?

So far Iron Ranger and Dragonheart are already qualified for round two I think.

  11. Dragon defeated kurt88.

The game was over very quickly. Axis tried to keep pressure on the Ruskies after a good first turn.Russians retaliated heavy and forced a breakthrough to Finland thereby relieving Leningrad.

My plan was to be ready for a quick Sweden conquest but an Allied probe that seized one of the North-German towns delayed the attack.

Axis lost units very quickly in Russia.

In the Med nothing much occurred besides UK invading Iraq after they already had taken Ireland.

Game sucked big time, as usual

  12. This is a serious, polite request to the moderators of this board. It concerns our Swedish friend (fiend): Kuniworth.

    He's done his time.

Maybe it's time to let him back in... on probation.

Kuni is a great asset and more part of SC history than most of us here. I've been in contact with him on ICQ the last couple of days and he really wants to come back. Why not give him the benefit of the doubt even if it is the last time?

His starting a new tcp/ip league is proof of his comittement to the SC community.
