  1. sadly I was playing a small game. Anyway, I'm getting better, thanks for all the advice. I just played my first multiplayer online game with some quick battle meeting engagment. Got my arse kicked. 2 shreks and 2 PzIVG's wasn't quite enought AT power. once they were dead suddenly he pulls out a WASP and runs around torching all my troops. I was about helpless.. Ken
  2. Ok, I'm a newbie and so far my main problem with the demo and now the game itself is following what the hell is going on. When watching the movie there is so much happening at once that I have a real hard time following it. So I move the camera around and replay it over and over. Is this the best way? Or am I missing something? Is there a way to cycle through new contacts made in the previous turn? or just cycle through all enemy contacts suspected or confirmed? Mainly I seem to have a hard time telling where the hell the enemy is! I suppose that real life but it's hard as hell as my infantry gets chewed up. thanks, Ken
  3. But for a sort of one stop source, the mad dog pack is fine right? I mean as far as I can tell it's the only real comprehensive 'pack'. OR am I wrong? Thanks, Ken
  4. I've noticed that many user created battles use a specific user created map. Do I d/l that seperately or will it be included in the battles file? I noticed that people create maps for Quick Battles so I was wondering if the files are seperate. Thanks, Ken
  5. A few questions I'd love for you all to clear up for me. Ok, as I understand it all the mods really do is change the graphical appearance of CM, but not actually change anything gameplay related. Correct? Next, I understand there is a TON of mods that are really just variations on a theme. Depending on taste some prefer others over others. correct? Do High-Res mods slow down CM? If I am right so far, I'm not really interested in 'collecting' mods. What is the simplest way to improve the look and sound of CM? I have been told to just get MadDogs modpacks and that would be plenty. Correct? Thanks, Ken
  6. sorry, feel free to trash this thread. Forgot I already asked this. Ken
  7. Anyone playing this game? It would appear to be the new monster of a grand strategic scale WWII game. Seems like players of CM would love it. Anyway just curious if anyone had an opinion on it. I'm considering getting it. Thanks, Ken
  8. Just curious. How many still play BO while owning BB? How many never bothered with BB? How many have dropped BO? Thanks, Ken trying to decide if the combo pack is worth it...
  9. Hearts of Iron definately seems like the new monster for WWII grand strategic scale. Definately has some bugs and tweaks to be done but with another patch this think will be incredible. Ken
  10. couple quick notes... I've been lurking for some time now and debating order CM since the original. I just hate ordering things. If it was in stores I would have gotten it years ago. Well this thread has sold me. I'm an old ASL fan. And this system sounds so damn complicated I know if can't be far from ASL!!! I'm in! j/k Ken
  11. Can you play over the internet or only via email? I can imaging thay playing vs a human is the way to go. Are there lots of opponents or is it difficult to get a game going? Thanks Ken
