  1. CMBB out does CMBO in so many ways. For a start the visuals and effects are much cooler and more realistic. ShockwaveShmokwave ...ever seen an explosion like the ones depicted in CMBO? (Except Nuclear) No more cartoony style graphics = greater imersion. Infantry react better to incoming fire. No more dare I say it...gamey infantry tactics. you really learn to look after your infantry forces. Use them badly they will be wiped out, use proper inf tactics and you have a powereful tactial force. In CMBO the only reason to buy mgs was to eventually wear down your enemy with casualtys. Mgs are now true assets on the battlefield eg. supression, slowing enemy advance, area denial and of course, total slaughter. The fog of war is far better making ambushes a very viable tactic, especialy at guns. Also lets at guns to be used ofensively. Artillery needs los to be effective No more fire and forget CMBO style of arty spotting. Due to the previous two factors, AT/inf guns survival rate has dramatically increased. I used to to think how much I would hate to serve with an at gun battery in real life...eg suicide. A greatly improved armour model makes tank battles way more interesting and realistic. Doodads need I say more? Vastly improved sound overall. CMBB excels over battlefronts previous effort in so many was it is impossible to list them all. There is no way I could go back to CMBO, athough a very fine game when released. After I played the demo I couldnt go back and had to order CMBB even though I was still playing CMBO at the time of the demo release. People my find CMBB compared to CMBO very unforgiving....that is true as it was in real life. I can only hope Battlefront continue to strive for total realism in the future.
  2. A kubelwagon moving fast along a road got hit by an at gun. The wagon slewed of the road at high speed and into some tall pines! A panzergrenader squad causing 74 infantry casualties in a meeting engagement! Taking friendly fire from a tiger. The shell clipped a small building that a panzergrenader squad was taking cover in, destroyed the building and caused 5 out of 9 casualties to the squad! My last hope in a quick battle against kvs was an 88 flack. The flack got strafed by a friendly bf109....no casualties.....88 supressed by bf109....kv comes into line of sight of 88, and fires 4 shells at the 88....88 finaly recovers and finishes the kv!
  3. I have found vehicle mounted flame throwers to be extremely usefull. Try set buildings/terain on fire to deny enemy forces lanes of advance or defensive positions on or near an objective. Have done this many times to great effect.
  4. First, I have noticed your ko'ed Panzers are poorly grouped. In a large open map like the one shown keep all you AFVs grouped tightly in formation. Seek hull down positions reletive to your objective. Clear the way for your Panzers with troops but dont rush them forward too far eg. keep them within support of your tanks at all times. Use Stugs for AT work then move up the Panzers to go to work on the infantry. try playing a different date, 1944 for example which should give you more of a chance by purchasing more powerful Armour.
  5. In my experience your AFV will seek hull down position reletive to the waypoint set. I have noticed that los plays a part. If your hull down waypoint is set behind tall pines for example the AFV will continue on disreguarding sutable hull down positions because it cannot draw a los to the waypoint.
