  1. I recommend you leave the default campaign files alone. Simply copy the folder and .cgn file outside of the campaign folder, rename them, and then place them back into the campaign folder. Use these files for your changes..Also, if you find that your changes are not remaining, you need to open the configuration settings and make certain that all 4 entries: bitmaps, interface, sound and localization, are set at 1 and not 0. If they are 0, then change them and save.

  2. Interesting thought, but though I have a "drop dead" date when Poland, the Northwestern Whites, and the Western Allies enter the war, they can come in earlier due do some activation triggers, or later due to % triggers. To afix a specific date on the at start forces would prove difficult. Also I have some activation triggers set up for the "at start" forces which might bring neutrals into the war faster. For example, if Poland moves their army away from the Lithuanian border to fight the Bolsheviks, Lithuania can start increasing their activation pro-Red and perhaps eventually invade Poland. I probably will simply need to Garrison all of the "at start" units and put easy cancel triggers on them once they become active, so they can start implementing the Offensive scripts...

  3. When I mentioned that extensive play balance testing will be needed, it is my intention to post the mod so anyone interested can help out and make suggestions. Playtesting by myself will work for a bit, but fresh eyes and sharper minds will be needed to make it better.

I will mention one negative now which I hope will improve, and that concerns the length of AI turns. I have cut it down quite a bit but it is still way too long for my tastes. I'm hopeful though that as I script more, it will get better. For example, detailed Garrison scripting helped alot.

  4. I'm afraid that did not work as the same pop up appears and the game loads without any of my custom bitmaps, scripts ect. I have not been renaming the subfolder, the only thing I have been doing is transferring and replacing the campaign file, and .cgn file between my home and work pc. Would working on the game between my two pc's and always replacing the existing files cause issues?

Hubert...is it possible that the save file is somehow being generated in two separate folders? I ask because of the following:

When I save a game I get this screen. All my saves and the most recent (highlighted) are present)

But then when closing the game and starting up the game again, when I want to load a game, I get a blank screen. Why aren't my saves being shown? Even the one I saved moments ago is not there.

  5. When I try loading a saved game for my mod, I receive the following message:

    Could not find directory

Saved game will be loaded without customization.

The game loads but without any of the custom bitmaps though they were present when I started a new game.

I checked the save folder and found the save file there, but what is missing? Seems odd that the game loads ok but does not save correctly.

    Where did I screw up?

  6. Hubert.... I received your email and everything is working fine. I thought that perhaps you discovered a problem with the National Colors changes I made because they were not in the file you sent, but I added it back to test it and it still is error free....now that I know not to dupe original bitmaps that are not changed I should have no further problems...

    a final thanks........ smile.gif
