  1. What is there to address? It is abundantly obvious that you have two choices;

    1) upgrade your game and PBEM to 1.01 (may involve some to-ing and fro-ing with your opponent)

    2) if that doesn't work, continue playing in 1.00

I recommend that you try #1 or #2.

After I posted I realized that this was a trolls thread. Reason why I don't post here too often - unsubscribing.

I recommend you get a life.

  2. Hello gang, did a quick search but no dice, if this has been addressed before please post link. Also I have not read the term and agreements. If someone from BF can answer all the better.

I downloaded the opensource CMC files from Sourceforge.net and it includes a lot of artwork etc. from CM. Can everything included in the developer files be utilized freely and openly for any project, even those not related to CMC?

    Thanks.

  3. I'd love to be in on the Beta testing, if you've been to my website you know how much I'm into this game!

    Mike

Nice site and effort. Regarding the selling of the books, although interesting, the images are owned by BF, you would need their permission or get other public domain references (not too hard)

In either case good luck, will bookmark you.

I am a little blown away by the fact that this forum has been open since October 2005, for a game that does not exist.

    What a waste of electrons.

hehehe...Although coming here and talking about CMC not being released yet every few months is an exercise in futility, it has become a tradition of sorts...

I guess we are trying to wish it to come true (chanting....)

My name is Rob and I've been helping to work on CMC for a while now. I understand the need to know what's going on but we've been pretty busy working on the game itself and trying to get it out. As far as I know, we're getting close to a release date, a new BETA has come out for the testers, so we'll see what they have to say, first.

If people have somewhat lost interest, my hope is that by providing something of quality we will get more people re-interested then by providing quantity.

If anyone has nay questions about the development etc. please feel free to ask.

Hey Rob, any "new" news ;) Thanks.
  6. Grogs will be grogs. Although the movie has a fair amount of "innacuracies" it is a story about soldiers, their day to day dealings with good and bad officers, about the loss of comrades, and the movie's final and more important statement about the ultimate absurdity of war. If you want "real" see a documentary, Cross of Iron is a great movie that any military man will enjoy.

As far as CMBB being outdated and dead I beg to differ. To me CMBB and CMAK are the pinnacle and the grail of tactical WWII computer wargaming. Graphics are dated but adequate almost 9 years from the venerable CMBO.

    Who cares about the graphics?

There are things severely wrong, such as some important armor values. The bogus bogging chances, exhaustion rates, turn rates have even been improved in CMAK, but never back to CMBB.

Then there is the whole complex of standing shooter/moving target and vice versa which obviously has hit probabilities screwed up, invisible artillery impacts, SMG squad firing off all their ammo than they historically could, stupid wire spotters and a whole bag more. </font>

Graphics are dated but adequate almost 9 years from the venerable CMBO. I installed Comapny of Heroes played the tutorials and unistalled it. It lack the level of realism that I find again and again in CM.

I would love to see CM with the graphics of CoH but would'nt we all. In the meantime CM has lasted more than any other program in my PC and it will remain so for years to come. CMC would add a dimension of play that I have been waiting for years and if I have to wait a few months to purchase a quality product so be it.

I guess that CM apeals to my tabletop hexboards and miniatures without the mess and having the facility to play with others around the world makes it even better.

    Long live Combat Mission! LOL!

  9. Although I agree to some of the comments posted as a long time CM player and customer Battlefront's products are equal to none. I can't for the life of me play Company of Heroes from the 500 pound gorilla MS and compare it to ANY of the CM series game from this small company that are grognards themselves to a million dollar studio.

But in essence I do believe that a little update is in order. ;)
