  1. After I posted I realized that this was a trolls thread. Reason why I don't post here too often - unsubscribing. I recommend you get a life.
  2. Someone from BF needs to address this. I have 3 league games that were almost done with large complicated setups.
  3. Hello again gang, just a short post to let everyone know that OSTFRONTWARGAMES is hosting the 2nd CMSF League. Stop by and sign up! We are growing rapidly. The main site was moved to a new domain: www.ostfrontwargames.com All the best!
  4. Hey gang just a note to let you guys know about a new CM website for grogs (non-Commercial), Ostfront Wargames we have 100+ registered users and all kinds of leagues and tournaments for ALL CM titles. The core web is in Spanish but there is a translation function and a dedicated/moderated English forum. Stop by and join us! Take care http://ostfront44.foroactivo.com/portal.htm
  5. I DL the Afghani Stan file but the zip file seems corrupted, can you look into it and advise? Thank you
  6. Hello gang, did a quick search but no dice, if this has been addressed before please post link. Also I have not read the term and agreements. If someone from BF can answer all the better. I downloaded the opensource CMC files from Sourceforge.net and it includes a lot of artwork etc. from CM. Can everything included in the developer files be utilized freely and openly for any project, even those not related to CMC? Thanks.
  7. Sorry to hear that Hunter. I was really looking forward to CMC. My dream wargame really. Releasing the source code is wonderful to say the least. It gives us CM grogs some hope of it being released sometime. Thank you.
  8. Nice site and effort. Regarding the selling of the books, although interesting, the images are owned by BF, you would need their permission or get other public domain references (not too hard) In either case good luck, will bookmark you.
  9. Yes of course. While I am here: What is BFs problem with perpetuating the modern CMSF franchaise disaster? Let's get back to WWII and CMC would be a nice first step for BF to re-aquire its north.
  10. Jeeezuz Khrist...Trying to play this game is like repeat visits to the dentist...without the laughing gas.
  11. hehehe...Although coming here and talking about CMC not being released yet every few months is an exercise in futility, it has become a tradition of sorts... I guess we are trying to wish it to come true (chanting....)
  12. Hey Rob, any "new" news Thanks.
  13. Grogs will be grogs. Although the movie has a fair amount of "innacuracies" it is a story about soldiers, their day to day dealings with good and bad officers, about the loss of comrades, and the movie's final and more important statement about the ultimate absurdity of war. If you want "real" see a documentary, Cross of Iron is a great movie that any military man will enjoy.
  14. Aside for the obvious bugs. Attempting to play Poland in 1939 is an excercise in futility on any reality based wargame except perhaps under a user created scenario where the Polish player has an unrealistic advantage.
  15. Can anyone host this? Web has done an AWESOME job, thank you very much.
  16. Hey gang, sorry to bring this unsavory topic back but I have seen things as of late in my PBEM games that make me go ummm.... Has anyone encountered or discovered any exploits or cheats in CM? Or possibles ones? Thanks ps - No zombies yet! [ March 16, 2007, 10:57 AM: Message edited by: onodoken ]
  17. Umm, ...doesn't look like CM to me. </font>
  18. Who cares about the graphics? There are things severely wrong, such as some important armor values. The bogus bogging chances, exhaustion rates, turn rates have even been improved in CMAK, but never back to CMBB. Then there is the whole complex of standing shooter/moving target and vice versa which obviously has hit probabilities screwed up, invisible artillery impacts, SMG squad firing off all their ammo than they historically could, stupid wire spotters and a whole bag more. </font>
  19. Also stop by www.puntadelanza.com we have 1 tournament going and 1 Meta Campaign plus dozens of ladder games. Also totalkrieg has a tournament starting next month. And those are the only 2 I belong to.
  20. As far as CMBB being outdated and dead I beg to differ. To me CMBB and CMAK are the pinnacle and the grail of tactical WWII computer wargaming. Graphics are dated but adequate almost 9 years from the venerable CMBO. I installed Comapny of Heroes played the tutorials and unistalled it. It lack the level of realism that I find again and again in CM. I would love to see CM with the graphics of CoH but would'nt we all. In the meantime CM has lasted more than any other program in my PC and it will remain so for years to come. CMC would add a dimension of play that I have been waiting for years and if I have to wait a few months to purchase a quality product so be it. I guess that CM apeals to my tabletop hexboards and miniatures without the mess and having the facility to play with others around the world makes it even better. Long live Combat Mission! LOL!
  21. Although I agree to some of the comments posted as a long time CM player and customer Battlefront's products are equal to none. I can't for the life of me play Company of Heroes from the 500 pound gorilla MS and compare it to ANY of the CM series game from this small company that are grognards themselves to a million dollar studio. But in essence I do believe that a little update is in order.
