Hi guys,
I just intalled fine but my buddy John is big-time snookered.
He downloaded fine and then tried to run the install. His computer keeps crashing. He had Macaphee turned off and security on low.
He has tried it twice and is now has to boot his computer in SAFE mode and is being told he has IRP issues.
Any help?
Rob

OK, John and I (Rob) just pre-ordered 2 copies (for CDN delivery). Looking forward to the email for digital download, can only take so much of the relatives this weekend!
-
Thanks Martin

I had been holding off as I wanted the digital download option. I go to the order page and it still says pre-order.
Are you guys selling the game or not?
-
Here here,
I hope Panther Games boots the bum out as well.
-
Is a Demo still going to be released as I see the game is getting ready to go Gold?
-
more likely another beta patch

2D display and NATO symbols would be very welcome. The CIV format is not for everyone.

To quote Faith Hill "It matters to me"Originally posted by pzgndr:Does it REALLY make a difference? You could go back to some of MY old posts during the SC pre-release period about two years ago and read my gripes about the SC map and icons, etc. Being an old grognard boardgamer and believing that 3R/A3R was THE standard for WWII grand strategy, this new SC game just didn't look right. Blah, blah, blah. Well, I changed my tune after getting into the game and learning to appreciate everything else the game offered. And the graphics seemed to not matter as much and actually began to appeal to me.
... And isn't that what we are all more interested in?
Sorry, but if the market wants 2D/top down why wouldn't you offer it? Hex vs. Tile is a game mechanics issue and I understand Hubert has decided to move to this. Not offering wargamers their preferred view of a map is much different.
For example, while I loved the old Talonsoft ACW games and the 3D units looked great, I never moved/fought in that mode, always 2D. Having the option was the key to me.

Hey Kuni,Originally posted by Kuniworth:Yo hans!

but what is the address?

Did it, really? Somehow it's just too much for me to see the Allies land their whole army at once along the entire French coastline. It just aint right. </font>Originally posted by Exel:</font><blockquote>quote:</font><hr />Originally posted by Lars:

France or Paris?Originally posted by KDG:Just noticed that France is now behind a river. Thats going to make taking the city that much more difficult.

Anybody have the link to the website that had different units you could download? All the news around SCII has given me the nudge to play a game or two of good ol' SC.

I suggest more than 2,500 posts by June 1!
Compared to the less than stellar results over at Matrix as their games slip farther and farther behind original release date (and they were games I was desparate for)this is awesome!

IMMEDIATTE RELEASEOriginally posted by Exel:Me me!
But maybe the thread should be "Who doesn't want to volunteer for playtesting?"... :/
A Nigerian family has over $1M Italian Lira in the bank and needs to retrieve it from their home country, go figure they need your help. You can save them and share in their wealth by either sending Euro $29 to hubert@paypal.scam or closing the Suez immediately in every game you have open. Shurley (don't call me Shurley) you must assist this worthy cause...

I am sure Hobert and BF have already thought of this but a good play test should not just include SCI grognards or the product that is delivered may never appeal to the broader market.
Insert from Moon: "Shurely you jest"
##!@#$ you and don't call me Shurely!
SCII mus reach the broader market or those of us in Canada will never be able to visit PEI when Hubert buys it out of petty cash

Shurely (don't call me Shurley) you are thinking of the Spaniards during the Napoleonic Wars?Originally posted by Rannug:So what will be new in this area. Will Spain get any partisans? New rules, new nations?
Today they would just climb into a hole and vote their government out for trying to perhaps fight terrisom and uphold any sort of decent morals.

Just go to http://www.adanaccommandstudies.com/IntroACW.html and download the free ACW game!Originally posted by KDG:This map could be used for two things:
A civil war game.
Change tanks to cavalry, rockets to artillary, battleships to gunboats, leave HQ's, corps, and armies, adjust stats, etc.
Invasion USA
Old game where the U.S. is invaded on all sides by Communists through the two coasts, Mexico and Canada. We could leave most of the units as is.

Those system specs keep climbing. . .Originally posted by Kelly's Heroes:</font><blockquote>quote:</font><hr />Originally posted by JerseyJohn:

Pentium IV recommended ultra-blah-blah-blah capability for best results.
SC, as we all know, has very modest minimum requirements, but this looks like it requires a fairly fast system and a large memory if you create scenarios using the largest map.
Matrix's WaW (which is turn-based mind you) will require a 128MB video card and 512MB of RAM. . .
So we may have to do some computer upgrading as well. . . </font>

Wrong. He was complaining about this being a topic. We do not need any patronising smack telling us what we are entitled to discuss and what we cannot discuss (unless it does not concern SC) thankyou very much.Originally posted by zappsweden:</font><blockquote>quote:</font><hr />Originally posted by Shaka of Carthage:

If Ron's opinion doesn't agree with what you want, so what? He's more than entitled to express his wishes. And he was answering a question that was asked.
And giving him crap because of the number of his posts or the "rating" he has in tournament play is not cool.
I am pretty sure that if i showed up (dressed as an environment activist) in Rambos home pub (www.stubspub.com) in Boise and triumphantly said "Hey guys. How can you even sit here watching American Football while there are so much more important to do in our world?" I am sure I would be met with "booooooooh!" or "Mind your own business you moron!!". Rambo you know the crowd over there, Am I not right? </font>

No. If included, that would probably rank as the most extraneous and least used "cool" feature in the history of gaming. It's ironic the screenshots hint at a wealth of new features and options yet what topics are people discussing?Originally posted by zappsweden:</font><blockquote>quote:</font><hr />Originally posted by Ron:

I'm starting to lose my mind with all the flexibility you are putting in Hubert, but hey keep it coming...Originally posted by Hubert Cater:Plan is to have both "soft" and "hard" limits an option. *Unlimited* is also and an option simply by setting a high hard limit value.
