  1. I love you people who say "oh this movie reeks , shoty battle scenes, shotty action ohh!! i know more then they do to make a perfect movie!"

how bout i go get you actuall War films from chechneya and show you the real thing since you seem to think every war movie is "shotty hollywood"

well watch the real thing then you prick watch real people get blown up into peices and die in front of your eyes. and yet you will probably still say "oh that was shotty dieing "

    please just shut up.

ive seen what real war looks like through home movies of Cheychen Reble's killing russians in battle. probably the closest to hell you can see without being there yourself.

and this movie was pretty damn close to what war looks like.

The movie was kind of fun, but there's a lot of "Hollywoodization" of the action. The book doesn't have this problem and was written with the assistance and input from many commanders and soldiers (including some Viet Cong) who actually fought at Ia Drang.

The full title of the book the movie was based upon is "We Were Soldiers Once...and Young: Ia Drang -- The Battle That Changed the War in Vietnam."

I am, btw, very much looking forward to trying recon by fire with MGs in CMBB. Finally all of that ammo HMG teams carry around will have a purpose. . .

    Cheers,

I love how u say it was holywoodization, but if you watch the dvd.. and the makeing of th emovie all the veterans of the battle were there to help make the movie and they tryed as hard as apossible to keep it from another hollywood Bs movie. Ltcol Moore saw to that.
  3. i dont know why you guys beat all over SPR, if you buy the DvD and listen to spielburg talk about why he made the film he will tell you because of His father serving in WWII and also is obsession and interst in WWII history, and he also strived to make the movie as historically accurate as possible, from what veterans and historians have told him from there experiences on D-Day.

  4. Ive seen Das boot, its a great movie but im not into Uboat movies much myself. Im more of a hardcore Infantry to infantry WWII fighting like SPR, or band of brothers. But i wish they made a damm Movie that was SPN like but Set on the german side! i mean comon you could make so many awsome movies out of stuff the germans whent throught during WWII.

i will still probably get Stalingrad and who knows mabye ill like it.
