  1. I'm sure it's user error, can anyone advise...

I've got the missions down where it's just me and my tank... but when I go into map view (F11) to control the complete unit, (in the engagement single player mission)... none of the orders work, I've tried hitting the buttons like number 3 for mount, nothing, then I click on move and it says select waypoint, I click on the map, waypoint set... but still no one moves...

This is all according to page 34 in the manual 9.4 orders to attached units...

can someone explain what step I'm missing?

    Thanks in advance...

  2. To the powers that be,

The 74 page manual is nicely done and lay-ed out, with the complete list of commands in it's appropriate section, and also the main commands on the inside of the front and rear cover... but anyway to get a pdf or word document of the command list... would just be so much easier having it laying open to the paper needed in front of us, instead of bending, (ugly word there), our manual.

thxs, and thx for picking up this game Battlefront, I remember when Rainer stopped by the SimHQ forums to share the news, share the Russian demo, and ask for recommendations on a distrubutor... Battlefront being most everyones response. ;)

  3. Want to verify if it's my system or a common occurance... especially since I rarely have tech issues with games due to getting the most common, most used equiptment...

About every third mission... I'll be driving along to a mission way point when the video (screen) just completely freezes... I still hear the sound going... but can not do any keyboard inputs... then I have to control Alt Del out... and I see T72 "running", not "not responding"... so then I have to click "end task", it closes without error... then I restart the game and runs well for a mission or two, then same thing again...

    anyone else with this problem?

    My system:

    Dell XPS Gen 4

    P4-3.75 HT

    2 gigs DDR2 RAM

Raedon 850 XT w/256 video ram

    Soudblaster Audity

    2x250 HD

    Win XP SP2, all updated

    1024x768x32@75 Desktop and games

Other then that nuisance, this game ROCKS... loving it so far.

  4. I like to warn you about drive2drive service... I ordered one game and never again.

It took 5 times, over a week to download the game... (was 2.2 gigs, and was corupt the first 4 downloads)

Once you download it and unzip it, after the install, everytime you go to play you have to have a internet connection so it can be checked, so, if your like me, would want to download a game, install it on a laptop that has no internet connection... the game will never start for you...

Say, again what I do, I have games installed on my desktop and works fine, but it won't run if you have the game installed elsewhere... the check won't allow it to run on 2 PC's even at different times, it will cancel all your others.

Just my experience, drive2 drive sucks, and I hope Battlefront don't continue down this line of game releases with other games. JMO.

  5. Excuse my ignorance, been away from these forums for a while...

I'm having NO problems what so ever with CMAK, just wondering if there was a patch in development?

I just want to know, because i want to burn ALL patches, mods, missions, and scenerios I've downloaded for all three CM games onto one disk... and don't want to have to re-do it when a new patch is released, (if) later.

Still love all 3 CM games, play at work all the time, GREAT laptop games.... thanks for the great series.

  6. OK, this is my christmas wish now, so you have to do it! ;)

1.I now have all three CM games, and play all three, so now I want you to go back and add the new commands from CMBB and CMAK to CMBO.

    2. Then add in all the newest art and sound files for all three games.

    3. then add all the missions that came from the special editions and other well known scenerios to each game.

    4. Then I want you to put all three together in one hugh game, with one excutible, call it the "platnium series". That way we start the game and can pick right then and there what operation area, and what mission and/or campaign to play.

    5. as a bonus, call this the "double platium" version... go ahead and add in a Pacific theather of operation with the US, Japan, and China.

OK that's it, thats all I want, oh OK... if I deserve even more I'll take cash too.

Merry X-mas all, at least we have some desert battles to do during the holiday. Nothing like a good war game to bring out the X-mas spirit.

    :D;):D

  7. Got my game today, happy happy happy...

Man I love this series, the game is great and Rocks...

now for my but... (more of a joke now)...

1.Wheres my manual, I don't care if they say the same things as the other two... they look good dress right dress on my computer bookshelf.

    2. Man, I hate when companies do that, do what? The first 2 are listed as cmbo and cmbb in the program group... but oh no, got to try something new and make a battlefront folder for CMAK in the program group... I want them all the same.

OT: just like with Ubi Soft... IL2 Forgotten Battles is in a group with a space between Ubi Soft, while lock on is in a folder with no space, Ubisoft! so that created 2 different install folders because of a space. lol

    3. and three... as I quickly went to install CMAK, I saw a quick note in that license thing I never read saying only one hard drive!

Do you mean to tell me that I can't have any of my cm games installed on my desktop at home, and my laptop that i take to work and play there? I'm only playing them one place at a time?

Above is a joke, messing around, don't take it serious, I'm a neat freak, everything must be eact and dress right dress, lol.

Thanks for another great game BATTLEFRONT.

now give us info about the next engine... screens NOW!

    ;):D

  8. Just wondering... is this version going to be in stores same as the shipping times?

War gamers have been eagerly awaiting this and it's finally here. November 28th marks the release of the strategy hit "Combat Mission 3"."Afrika Korps" plunges you into dramatic battles in the African desert between 1940 and 1942. It allows you to lead the invasion of Crete and land smack bang in the middle of the bitter defensive combat for Italy and Sicily. Do you already master tactics like ambush, flank attacks and defensive manoeuvres? Can you effectively use powerful tanks like "Wolverine", "Tiger" or "Firefly"? Then you're what we need for "Combat Mission 3: Afrika Korps"! On sale everywhere from Friday 28th November!!!

  11. Just in case some of you guys are at work, school, or whatever... but still want to see CMAK in action... here's a short movie I made, nothing fancy, no editing, no transitions, of the demo action.. showing some smoke and dust trails, along with a couple of kills.

    http://www.magnumforce.info/Downloads/CMAK%20Preview.wmv

(left click to view, right click save as to download.)

realize that I have a limited bandwith allowance (already used up my primary web site bandwith, lol, this is my secondary.)... so after a while it may go down.

    ;):D

  12. Well since a friend introduced me to CMBO upon release, not only was it a great game, but I began reading books on WW2 and watching alot of History Channel programs... and thus became a WW2 history junky...

then the same with CMBB, (man those poor Russians.. they really got screwed alot!)

now with Afrika Korps coming soon, was wondering if there were any good book recommendations about those battles in the deserts of Afrika and Italy. The only one I've read that covers Afrika at all was a book about Patton... but I'd like to read about the actual in your face desert battles... recommendations?

    thx in advance.

  13. Thx for the dedicated forum...

Was wondering... is CMAK going to be in stores like the recent CMBO and CMBB... upon release? or is it order through site first, then a special edition will come later?

Guess I want to know if I need to order from the web site, like I've done in the past or coming directly to stores since you have distrubitors now?

    thx for your time.
