  1. Well I've been reading in my manual ( what actually read the manual ! ) and I came across the bit about squad to man ratios ie a three man squad represents 7 - 11 men, a mg gunner 1 - 2 and so on. Thats fair enough, but I seem to have overlooked vehicle ratios eg is it one for one, one for two or whatever ?

If I'm being daft and just haven't noticed just say and I'll look harder :D

  2. Ah, I suspected as much - can't say I'm surprised. Armoured trains would be kind of large ( on a small map they would probably run the full length of the map :D ) and a river big enough to carry a gunboat would have to be pretty damn large itself. Surprised that stationary box cars/locos won't be included, marshalling yards and rail junctions were key centres and there was pretty viscious fighting around them, boxcars etc would have added a nice flavour to a scenario

Lets hear it for motorcycles and cavalry.

(I know they can't do horses)

I'd agree completely, CM "the blitzkrieg years " would be kind of fun ( if a little one sided )

Why can't they do horses, surely if tanks artillery and infantry can be done horses shouldn't present that much of a problem?

In other words, the player has no direct control over their use (other than to get their squads into positions where the AI is likely to use them I suppose...)

BTW, nice member number  [/QB]

Ah right, that makes sense, pity there isn't some way to direct them - that'd be handy.

hadn't noticed my member number, but yeah pretty cool :D

  5. Alas, the game hasn't been released in the UK yet. But the good news is it comes out on the 22nd of this month, and I've placed a pre-order with Softwarefirst... I played the demo and thought "right, I'm buying this" picked up the phone and opened the wallet. I've got to say I'm really looking forward to it, it looks like being one of those " just one more turn " games

  6. Thanks for replying guys, to be honest I suspected that no new models could be imported into the game, but thought I would check. Shame really, certainly there's a couple of vehicles for the brits you could easily justify , later Humber a/c's ( 37mm gun ) were in widespread use, certainly more widespread than the Kangaroo conversions - still I guess it's one for CM 2 ;)

The Barbarossa campaign sounds very interesting, and I've only just ordered CMBO...

As regards rifle grenades, I thought that that's what the little green grenades represented but I couldn't find a way to use them, perhaps the full game will bring enlightenment.

    Again thanks for your time.

  7. Firstly hallo everyone !

Got a few questions I wondered if folks could help me with, couple of caveats first I've only got the demo at the moment so if the answer is self explanatory in the full game please feel free to say. Secondly I realise some of these may have been done to death already, again please say and I'll start wading through the back posts.

    ok then,

    1) The vehicle line up is pretty nice, with some lesser well known types eg Kangaroo etc, however there are a few gaps that would add to the game if filled eg AEC heavy A/C for the Brits, various SPG/tankhunters for the Germans ( conveniently many of these only saw service in France and the low countries ), so do the makers intend to put extra vehicles into the game via patches or some kind of vehicle pack ?

    2) if not is there some way for modders to import new models into the game, not just camo designs but whole new models?

    3) Rifle grenades? do infantry have them, mine necer seem to use them ,yet they were pretty common.

    Many thanks
