I started a thread on tactics a couple of weeks ago and it drew little attention. I don't think many people are all that interested, honestly, in deep analysis, at least not without the game in hand at any rate.

Which also means the sw thiefs will never play it .. always one of the best anti-piracy schemes.Originally posted by dan/california:The whole point of this game is that it is deep and detailed enough that it needs a manual that size.

I'm sure most of the true wargame junkies here
at BF are regulars on the mother of all wargame
forums
Comp.sys.ibm.pc.games.war-historical
I had some fun last night reading the archives
in 2001 on the first release of CMBO and yes Matt was there.

Ebay would be a good place to start and as suggested, wait for the demo and try whatya have first.Originally posted by TomBombadil711:Can you recommend a graphic card for a low budget that will do it?

Whats it take to knock out a track, especially since a cripple can change things faster *sometimes then a kill and throw an offense into a defence.
Don't the Syrian type factions have long range 50 cal like sniper rifle which could damage/cripple track? It'll sure be interesting seeing what weapons will be available..have I missed the complete list?

Simple, BF does things by the numbers..would you expect or want it any other way?Originally posted by Sirocco:The serious question this raises, of course, is if Paradox are shipping, and if the patch is almost ready, why wait for the 27th to open downloads?

Yup, it's the middle east version alright with the manual written in Arabic عربي and one prayerOriginally posted by pad152:Look at the box

Which hardcore wargamer sites (besides here:) will likely do the most indepth review of CM-SF..at one time I had a list of wargame reviewer sites who reviewed previous CM releases and from what I can recall.. pulled no punches.
Here's hoping my dlx version soon gets mailed so I can atleast understand what they're talking about when I do read them.

It was your masterful skills setting up this legendary battle scenario which made it such a ferocious chess match. I've also sent Teddy kudos for hosting this little web jewel..I can't think of how many people I've intro'd to this that immediately became CM players and fans. But it was you who created such a compelling scenario..I'm sure both Mastergoodale and Parabellum still -on occasion- relive that battle at the edge of sleep.
Thank you!!
Can I assume your on the CMx2 beta team..hopefully? I will be visiting your site
more often as things develop.

When's the last time you recalled one of the best battles *ever on BF plus it came with a classic AAR which should be manditory reading and posted in every BF manual..if this doesn't get your battle blood flowing your in the bodybag! It's the wonderful world of CM and the AAR is ParaBellum vs MasterGoodale..
enjoy and pass along to all slimy maggots who still crawl in the dirt!
comments welcome

I'll give this a good look-see, I realize BF will not release SF until it's ready so I'd like to find something fairly light which will start getting him interested in the genre. If I can do this eventually he'll make a wonderful contributor here I'm sure. Thanks

I'd like suggestions on how to introduce a new player of this type of wargame to the upcoming
CMSF if possible at this stage, I was tempted to suggest CMBB but I'm afraid it will not prepare him for this new game and let's face it..learning CM#1 is a long learning curve. I'd like to find something alittle closer to what BF has developed or even documentation on how to unlearn CM or something he can cut his teeth on before release. Has anyone on the beta team posted an AAR by chance, I'd sure like to read one.

Don't be such a coward or at least wait till your booted dude.Originally posted by Ghost1:let's get out of this F*****g place.. Stick yer game and yer fanbois..Good luck you will need it!!! yeah I'm gone but there's plenty more that will see the TRUTH about this utter drek you call a game. [/QB]
Look, BF forums have always been supportive for *constructive comments but instead you posted right out of the box a flame. I've seen this approach at some other gaming forums and they usually result in totally worthless reading..it doesn't work here. You'll need to smarten up your comments and explain the *exact problems you had/have and leave the guessing rhetoric at those *other places. Just a tip...you'd have to be fairly caustic and overly stupid to get kicked at BF.
I personally think much too much was made of your accusations/post,it should have been simply ignored it's the best way to handle flames/flamers, they leave on their own then.

Ouch!! Part of the reason I own and play the CMOriginally posted by KiloAlpha4:I hate turn based games and the fact that this is real time will make me and a lot of others who didn't like the turn style of the series
series was for it's PBEM..it's the only way busy
working people can play a serious war game IMO I certainly get the most satisfaction playing turn based via PBEM..if this has changed then I'll be greatly disappointed but I'm almost sure the BF people feel the same way on this as I do *hopefully? Look's like I'll need to do some catchup forum reading.
Wouldn't it be neat of the manual came out before the sim..I'd buy it.

I guess my first question..will CMSF be a complete change/learning experience in the way we play the game besides learning all knew weapons and capabilities? Will there be a demo version or even being able to join a beta test version?

It's all in the fineprint.

Someone posted an interesting proposal on an xbox360 forum, will there be a BF xb360 game in the future, the platform is dieing for one. Personally I'm a total noob to the console but it has all the heavy video shading requirements many future games will require but I see almost nothing but FPS's or RP genre gamingwise and NO wargames for the new XB.Originally posted by Battlefront.com:Don't get me wrong guys, the ATI cards work and the better ones work very well.

Excellent Col,thats exactly the info I needed..very helpful. In RL,a commander would generally have map terrain/elevation for LOS info so I don't feel like I'm taking a shortcut using this method.Originally posted by The Colonel:Mystro
you can also go to your scenario editor and open up the scenario file. Then go to map editor and preview map. Then you can place forces anywhere on the map and check LOS.

Thanks Wicky..looks like that's the process,I was hoping there was a way of setting up a test map but I haven't found that solution yet.
WHEN DO WE PRE-ORDERERS GET IT
