i was playing a QB and i decided to go all out with arty spotters. i got some 150 rockets, 105s, the works, about 10. i placed them forward and had about 3 trp's placed evenly across the map. so i start the first turn realizing that i put my spotters on top of an EXTREMLY exposed hill. the enemy pounded 7 of em to death in 2 turns and the other ones broke, but strangly enough, the rest of my force was almost completly intact. so in summary FOs draw fire extremely well (will work with stupid 2" mortar teams too) and if you have one thats out of ammo or you dont really need send him up front to taste combat!

When im playing a really hilly level, i notice that my troops dont shot up towards hills and arty spotters have no LOS. i mean in real combat you might just see part of the unit and still fire. input?

I say we need a little gore in CM2. Ya know, severed body parts and the sort. we also need civilians, cuz there were other people around other than soldiers ya know. we also need triggering ability with the map editor. i feel naked with out it.
