I also have hard locking but with the full version of the game. My machine is an older iMac but with the 10.6.7 operating system. My iMac meets all the minimum specs except processor speed which is 2.16GHz not 2.2GHz. The game opens and the senario/battle/etc loads okay but when I try hit 'OK' to start the action everything freezes and the machine requires a full re-start.

A CM game without PBEM? The only reason I've enjoyed CM for so long is PBEM. IP games are great too, but who has the time? Playing against the AI is like polishing a turd, You can polish all you like bit it's still a turd. Get real BF; and understand why you have such a loyal following. Military history is all about human v human. Wellington v Napolean; Rommel v Montgomery, etc, etc. I have no interest in playing against your hopeless AI - my dog is smarter . I don't care about the theatre, just give me a human opponent.

Just a few of the many things I like to see in CM2, if that's what the Eastern Front game will be called. 1) Use of captured weapons (with some penalty, of course). 2) Good-order crews being able to man good order, but previously abandoned guns. 3) Voluntary abandonment of guns by crews. 4)Voluntary gun destruction (spiking) of guns upon abondonment by crew. BTS: How about it? Any thoughts, anyone else?

Make sure the attachments are "Encoded for any computer" and don't compress the attachments. See your mail program preferences. I have a Mac and don't have any trouble sending PBEM files to a host of PC-using opponents.

You don't get to place your guys until you send the file to your opponent; he buys his force and then returns the file to you. You then get to place your guys, save the file and send it to him for his placement. And so you go on... Mac or PC, it's all the same.

What surprizes me is how you can get quite good bonuses even with conscript C&C units, like a conscript German platoon unit I'm playing with right now with +2 combat, +2 stealth and +1 morale

I know a guy (good on you 6+1) who fired an AVRE' (yes, all 290mm/40lb of it) at a sniper. If anyone knows a better case of overkill, I'd like to hear about it. And just for the record the AVRE went under the nickname of "The Flying Dustbin".

Given the piss-poor exchange rate, CM will set you back about $100 Aussie inc. postage. That's only four cartons of VB; well worth the money.
