So why hasn't our society crumbled? If all professions have many more screw ups than sucessful types, then how did we even win the war? Maybe the Germans were just unlucky?

Sorry for being so harsh. I didn't want to start a fight. I am just a little upset at the minor flamming I am reciving as a result of this. :(

Speaking of doctors, my grandfather got skin grafts to re-cover his diabetes-ravaged feet...and then the night after the surgery, some random doctor came in, and even though my gramps told him not to, this other doctor removed the bandages, which had the effect of...believe it or not...ripping the new skin grafts entirely off his feet, still attached to the bandages (!!!?!).

I still think doctors and nurses and the like are admirable ppl. Having life literally in your capable hands is some responsibility.

Yes, that is one of the bad things about doctors. Each thinks he understands the patient better than the next. The result: conflicting treatments. :(

Very mature. I guess other peoples opinions are not allowed in your litte world. Just wait until you are old enough to need constant medical care. You will then understand what I am talking about.

  4. Whoa! Looks like I opened a can of worms.

It is true that a few nurses are hard working and very good at what they do. But in my experience and my friend's as well (he is a Resp. Theripist) most are very lazy and feel that they are more than what they really are. They think because they have a licence as a nurse that they operate on the same educational level as a doctor. Hell, I've seen EMTs out diagnose them before. Most of the ones I have worked with complain about their work load when all they do at where I work is push meds for a handful of patients.

I'm not attcking anyone specificly, so please tell your girlfriend not to kick my ass. :D

Many doctors are skirt chasers with overbloan egos; that is true. But I have seen many more doctors that understand their place in the scheme of things and do more of what their job requires of them than nurses do. When it takes 8 hours to get an IV (and this can happen in a fully staffed hospital by the way) or you have to argue that you need a certain pain killer that the doctor ordered (AND IT'S LISTED ON THE CHART IN FRONT OF THE NURSE'S NOSE) AND YOU ARE DYING FROM PAIN, it just makes you question the value of the person who is caring for you. ANYONE that has ever spent more than a few hours in a hospital knows what I mean. Like the joke goes: "What do you call a nurse that graduates at the bottom of their class? A nurse."

Ask your girlfriend how many of her nurseing peers suck. I bet she'll name more bad ones than good ones.

Nurses are overated. They have no right to strike as they are for the most part, worthless. Anyone can push meds and clear bedpans, but nurses think because they got certified in school that they are doctors in a sense. I should know; I have to work with 'em!

Damn, I need a new line of work.

No, he would be okay as a FO. Just dip 'em in green and have him send his firing coordnates via morse insted of verbal over the radio. :D

  7. Combat General,

First off, you have to be careful what you say in reguards to politcal opinions. Everyone has them, and most people get easily offended if a person gets a little too left or right wing from their own ideas of how the world should be. This doesn't change with age either. The older you get, the more you'll notice how others can get into knock-down, drag-out fights about thier individual politcal ideals. So be careful what you say. You'll learn from experience what you can say and what you should keep to yourself (or certain cricles of friends).

As the old saying goes: "Everything in life is somehow related to sex or politics."

Second, I've noticed that a lot of your comments are confrontational. You need to relax and try not to be so intense in you speech. Try using smilies to convey that you are not trying to be rude or attack anyone, and re-read what you write before you post it. You might find that you are unintentionaly rubbing people the wrong way. I'm not saying you have to bend to what the CM community wants, just that you need to improve you social interaction skills a little so that others will enjoy speaking with you rather than attack your comments.

Try this, after you get good at it, if people are still attcking you, then drop off the forum for a month or so, and then come back under a new name so that you can get a fresh start. Now, I'm not saying to change you name ONLY just to solve this problem, because if your speech pattern stays the same, the players on this forum will still know it is you.

CM is a great game with a lot of excellent people to play and converse with! If you try my advice out, you might find you'll enjoy this game and the forum much more.

Please excuse my horrid spelling. I know it stinks! ;)

Ye of little faith. At least give me until turn 11. :D

That is, turn 11 is when his men begin their mad retreat to save their own skins! "Run men! Run! Ted is sending us to our deaths for sure!" tongue.gif;)

Don't worry. I let everyone know how badly I bloody our tournament leader's pathetic forces. We are playing 'Fatherland.' Neither of us has played this one, so no one hint to us what is in store. I am Volks on defence, and he is US on offence.

  10. My assumtion to the answer to this question is YES, but I'm curious anyway.

The DOODADS, or DOOHICKYS, or DOODOOS :D that will be in CMBB will be optional right? What I mean is, you can switch them off so that things like wheat fields look flat again just like in BO.

The reason I ask is I an worried that players with slower systems won't get left out when CMBB releases. I figured that you would have incorporated a 'switch-off' mode for these new graphics anyway much like how you can turn off trees or reduce the quality of smoke now. I just hate loosing my arty spotter in the woods when I need him most.

Just look'n out for the little guys! smile.gif

I'll bug ya tomorrow with an e-mail if you are serious about that game. I'm sleepy now *yawn* and gonna head off to nite-nite. Let me know if you want a QB or a pre-designed mission. My only stipulation is I don't want to play anything bigger than a 'medium' scrap. smile.gif

Sorry 'bout the fat. My wife complains about it too. Personally, I think a married man should sport a little bit of a gut! :D
