  1. COG, I am at a lose trying to figure how to update the mod I did. I get to the correct page, but can t not figure out how to select the "Units Modded." All I see is a single checkbox on the main screen and when I click the "Help Me" link it just shows a list of naming conventions...no clickable areas. Not sure what I am missing here. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
  2. When you were adding the ruleset were you in the tab for rulesets or still in the tab for mods? From the Main CMMOS screen hit the configure button...now look at the top on the left hand column...there should be 2 tabs one for mods and one for rulesets. Click the ruleset tab and add as before. MAde this mistake myself a few times.
  3. Hey Andrew...didnt a few of your German mods rely on arm BMPs from a previous release? Am at work now and can't check (or download), but I seem to remember that there were one or 2 mods that had arm BMPs that were found in another download. SonBae
  4. See that is the problem with this whole question. The tank is not targeting the spot where the rounds are impacting. The tank is targeting the base of the building or the gun with HE. You can run a LOS check and it will show a clear LOS, then set target and all looks good to go...then the tank fires and every blessed round falls into the little hill...and to make matters worse, the reverse doesnt happen to the gun, where its shots follow the JFK magic bullet flight path up and over the little rise to impact the tank. Dont know if it is a TacAI issue casuing the tank to fire when it REALLY doesnt have a clear LOS to the target...a conflict with TacAI and LOS or what. All I know is something definately wierd is happening...doesnt quite make sense, and is repeatable.
  5. The pics Visom posted are of a game he and I just finished and was the case I mentioned in my post. There is a lot of confusion in this thread. Clarification #1, we are not talking about HE supressing a crew or MGs being the better way, the crew being fanatic or what. This issue is that a Tank (in this case) stops to shot at a gun (AA/AT/Inf) and the tank's shots hit the crest of an intervening hill, while the AT/AA/inf guns shots all aim true and will hit the tank. The question boils down to is this a bug (like the seek-hull down bug) or is a "feature" that actually includes the rounds trajectory and max elevation/depression of the guns in questions. I do not think the trajectory answer applies here because of the range involved in Visom's and my battle. gun depression could be the case (the T34 could not depress the barrel enough to hit the gun due to the guns location and the T34 being one a slope). Not sure of the cause, but am curious.
  6. I have experienced the same problem that Badgerdog and TheCrow mention here. It is not so much "good tactics" as to the placement of the gun, but could be a LOS "glitch" of some type. T34 moves up a hill....receives fire from a AT Gun on the other side....stops and shoots....EVERY round over several turns slams smack dab into the top of the hill, while the AT gun sends round after round into the tank or the ground nearby. The situation is almost identical to the Crest-bug that version 1.02 corrected. In my case the T34 was on Hunt orders and I was using version 1.02. Now to throw a wrinkle into the mix, is this an intended result to reflect the min/max depression and elevation of different guns as opposed to "good placement" of the AT guns? 7. I think I can pull out several more variations. Source materiel ( Finnish Helmets )is there just need to set mouse cursor to pixel. Looking at options for the following based on information from the site listed above: - Rats.Ptri (Horse Artillery Battery - 3rd Artillery Battalion 15th Field Artillery Regiment - JR 47 (Vallila Battalion) - Uusimma Dragoon Regiment - Kev Os 4 (4th Light Infantry Unit - 4th Division) - The one I already did would seem to belong to the 3rd Brigade (Blue Brigade) What have I just gotten myself into  [ February 28, 2003, 01:27 PM: Message edited by: SonBae ]
  8. Interesting thought....let me see what I can come up with for variations this weekend.
  9. Good point STRT...it was too white...I toned it done by yellowing the skull a bit...updated zip at CMMOD Database.
  10. Thanks MikeT. I have seen that picture too...in fact it is what spurred the interest. I used the site I listed cause it showed that helmet in color (even though it did have the bearded re-enactor). Was never quite sure if the skull was localized or "soldier Art" troops will add to the helmet or an actual unit marking. Based on the assumption it is a unit marking, like MikeT's site suggests, I did a little mod showing the skull. I used AndrewTFs new Finn uniforms as the base. Posted over at.... CM Mods
  11. Got a quickie for the grogs and our Finnish brothers out there...what is the history on the Continuation War helmet with the skull painted on the front? And example can be seen at: Continuation War Helmet Thanks!!! [ February 22, 2003, 11:23 AM: Message edited by: SonBae ]
  12. Normally I am a quiet person and mainly lurk, but boy I am confused now....CMBB (notice not CM2, which indicates it is not an engine rebuild, but rather a tweak, although a pretty hefty tweak) can show perimeters, encirlcements quite easily on a platoon, company scale...the TACTICAL level. Just set a map to the largest setting, go for an attack or assault. Defender is no bigger than a company sized element for example. This leaves lots of flanks for bypassing and what not. But the East front "feel" the misquided Major desires, where large unit concentrations are bypassed to be isolated and dealt with later, is beyond the DESIGNED scope of CMBB (and CMBO, those things happened on the West front too). Those OPERATIONAL level maneuvers used the Division and Corps, Independent Brigade as the main unit of maneuver, not the TACTICAL level Platoon and squad that CMBB/CMBO deals with. Now CMBB does deal with one aspect of the "feel" the Major wants...what happened to those isolated forces, someone had to go in and dig them out. That type of TACTICAL Level operation is more in line with what this TACTICAL level game can do in a fantastic manner. From my point of view it gives the best TACTICAL feel for East Front warfare that I have ever seen. Job well done BFC.
