I didn't realize the M21 fired forward but I'll be using it more often now. And I'll taunt my opponent with Triple Crown references.
Thanks Silvio & John. This is why the forum rocks.
Cheers,
Mike
p.s. Toad..In my experience they will retain their target when briefly out of LOS. This works for both actual enemies and area fire.

Top-hat is the term (actually I think it is half the term) for when you hunt and reverse on a ridgeline. It works best when you have multiple vehicles poping up at different intervals. I've found it a very effective tactic for tanks. With mortar halftracks it works best for the germans since the allies fire rear facing and thus have to reverse up the hill and move back down it.

I've had success when, like my tanks, I top-hat with them.

The sinking of the Leopoldville is also discussed in MacDonald's A Time For Trumpets .

I recommend one of Der Kessel's Byte Battles. My freinds and I play hotseat and these short battles are easy to manage and don't take to long. I especially recommend "Peter's Pinch", which is a great little ME firefight.

From the manual:
"Certain combat arms, like airborne troops and Gebirgsjager, which always required a certain amount of training and physical fitness to be accepted within their ranks, cannot be conscripts"

You can also check them out in the scenario editor. The escape key rocks!

The game play, historical accuracy, and community are all great. But CM's best feature is how it encourages creativity. I can change almost any sight or sound in the game with sufficient talent, knowledge, and motivation. My tactics must be more flexible than "behind the third rock on the left, pull the lever to open the secret door" to win. The scenario editor is my favorite thing about CM. It keeps the game fresh, allowing me to test how different units work or make up a "what if" scenario. I especially love naming the troops. There's nothing like having the starting five of the 1970 New York Knicks command my Jumbo Shermans or making my old room-mate a conscript truck driver.

I would just like to commend the BTS staff for this great idea. The contributors to Missing-Lynx are both talented and knowledgeable. Hopefully they will be eager to display their work.

I can't think of a better place for my first post. To say that BTS provides an excellent product and excellent service at a fair price is an understatement. The best software purchase I've ever made. One of the best games I've ever played.
This should hold you over for a little while...Two new CMBB screenshots!
