  1. One of the complaints people had was the shortkeys. Luckily we can alter them in the hotkeys file. If you change them, only remove the keys for the english version (<E>). If you remove one of the keys from the german (<G>) of french (<F>) keys the file is not read by the game.

    Btw one request is it possible to get more commands in the file. I am missing the cancel target hotkey (yes it is the DEL button, but i want it to be the X key :) )

  2. Armor cover arcs

    I know that this is already mentioned, but i hope this will be implented in a patch soon. For example i was playing the second mission of road to montebourg and there was an AT gun covering the road. Lucky for me i got my infantry first down the road and the AT gun gave away its position. If it didn't i would have probably lost one or more tanks!.

    Target Area bocage

    when i think there is an enemy behind some bocage i place a target area at that bocage. Because of the action spot this target line is placed at the nearest spot. At close range you see them firing in front of the bocage and not firing in it.

    besides that i wish more modules and the eastern front game

  3. Well that explains the bocage, but not the trees and bushes. I just played the mission from the first VAAR where i was suprised that the enemy pak on the far right on the hill could see my tanks through all those trees.

    I am guesing that trees are also part of the game abstraction.

  4. Well the game Achtung Panzer: Kharkov 43 has the feature that units will follow the road. Allthough the control layout is one of the weakpoints of the game, once you get the hang of it it works great.

    I hope that this feature will make it to CM at least for the user. Perhaps in the next patch ;)

  5. I would love to see cm campain in normandy :) Oke perhaps that is to much..

    I always enjoyed operations because it would give you some feeling of a battle which has different phases. extension of the map, ammo supply and the change to see some vehicles back on the field after being repaired are nice features. Scenarios are good, but are very limited, an operations gives you some deeper feeling or better atmosphere.

    A good example is the new game Achtung Panzer Kharkov 1943

    well i have tried the mp with a friend of mine.

    Sorry but it was a no go.

    Internet isn't working. we can see each others game, but joining doesn't work.

    We have tried to open our ports, but joining just didn't work.

    However it is possible that we just didn't open the right ports or that some firewall/router is still blocking the connection.

    Next we started hamachi to try start a 'fake' network game. This was more succesfull, we could join each other's game. Then we started the game, set up our forces ingame and then the game crashes when we press continue.

    Most of the time some one of us hangs and the other can play or we both crash to desktop.

    Are we the only one with this experience?

    Btw my pc specs are:

    dualcore E6600

    Windows Vista

    Geforce 9600 GTS, 512 mb

    I don't know the specs of my friend.

  7. Perhaps a temporary solution, i have allot less crashes ingame without HDR and Ambient occlusion turned on.

    Now when i crash it is during loading a game. I have only played one mission without crashing so it is not really tested, but it feels good...

    Your problem is related to one of the more annoying issues with VISTA, namely user access control (UAC).

    To get around it, simply right click on the game shortcut EACH time you want to run the game and select the "Run as ADMIN" option.

    That will allow you to save the game.

    VISTA has many problems/bugs but most are known right. I mean the problem with UAC is not new and other games can be played with out using this temporary solution.

    Don't get me wrong it is a great game and there is a great support to help us.

    But things like the UAC problem, Multiplayer problems should not have been there.

    If in the release text of TOW 2 says: "Special attention is being devoted to multiplayer and user created missions" and even the basic mp function is flawed...

    I can only imagine the burden to test all systems and that it probably cost allot of money, but i should not be the case to buy a game and then to have ask instructions of how to start the game or how to use the MP function...

    Next time just says optimized for XP.

    Having said all this, we can be grateful for the support both from battlefront and 1C Company :)

    i am trying to play the game, but i get many crashes.

    Although i am using the suggestion to start the game as an admin, i still crash many times, save games and during a game.

    This is probably already said before and known by the game makers, but i thought i mention it again. This should be fix very soon, if even the basic game does not function...

    I am using vista with a dual core E6600, Geforce 9600 GT, latest drivers.

  10. well i enjoyed it, one of the better scenarios in my opinion.

    i did win the scenario, but with losses. The approach can be very dangerous and also the time between the arrival of the reinforcement. without the reinforcement i could not have completed my mission.

    about your question, the could always fire the first shot before i spot them. so the are a big threat. i had some problems taking them out, because the area fire didn't always work. after i spot one atgm my squad fired at them. but as soon as the were gone again the stop firing. even when i gave it an area fire command, they basically wait until the target is spotted again. So the atgm's could again fire before they were spotted. i thinks this is an engine "bug". Perhaps it is because of the collateral damage condition, i don't know. The threat of the atgm's were high enough to back out my vehicles until they were taken out...

  11. hi,

    i have some problems with heights and LOS. in a senario i have a squad in a trench, which is located next to a road. The road lies a bit higher then the ground left and right to it. so the squad is in the trench on the right side of the road. Now a bmp shows up 300m on the left side of the road.

    Visually it looks like the squad could never see this bmp, but it does. and as soon as the bmp comes closer it will shoot at my squad, basically through the elevated road in the trench.

    unfortunately i can't add a screenshot, but try the scenario "The Farm" MKII and you will see what i mean. Now we all expect certain thing from this game. So i hope this can fixed, because when looking at the terrain no LOS could exist in that situation and that is still how we look at the terrain to search for good positions....
