I once again started playing Combat Mission again, but there is one problem however. I suck horrendously at this game, and I always seem to have the disadvantage.

I played the tutorial and Aachen each and on my first try on both got a major victory. I think I'll play tutorial form German side, and try Bruyeres and then Reisburg and Wiltz.

I need someone to tell me a good mission to play that would be good for a begginner...me.

Haven't played any of those games Pascal, except Baldur's Gate 2 (which I may reinstall to finally finish), and Everquest, which I don't play becuase of the montly cost. Also Operation Flashpoint is an excellent game which I finished a few weeks ago. Once the multiplayer is fixed, it will be a blast online. [ 11-24-2001: Message edited by: Nutball ]</p>

I will surely return to my beloved COmbat Mission, but I am currently playing addictive games like Ghost Recon, Max Payne (again), Shogun (again), Rogue Spear, and The Sims (again). As for you.. I meow at you all!!

Oh. Is your grandfather still alive? I'm sorry I can't think of any less flat out way to ask that question. That phrase you said he used to use alot means "move along" or "go" in arabic.

A good one could be Waltz. Its 20 turns. The Axis have an advatage as well.

Type: Small Attack American Attack on Germans in a French village its pretty small and short. fictional Rainy,dampy there is quite a number of units and a few armor units as well. It's not bad for my first map, and I took the time to make a good, descriptive briefing. PLease try it, I would appreciate it.

I played my second mission today... It was the defence of Waltz, and to my surprise, I achieved a Major Victory, with a score of 72, while the enemy had 27. No curbs for me or the PC were given so it was normal settings. When I saw all those tanks and infantry, I felt like quitting. I stayed with it, let my troops get rested adn ready after I moved em a bit, and then he fired the first shots. I was using Mad-Dog's Sound add-on, adn it was awesome. He had a Panzer IV, a Puma, a halftrack and an SP gun, all of which I destroyed using my Anti-Tank gun, and occasional help from my M10. After I destroyed what I thought were all his vehicles, some hpwizers and halftracks popped up. I couldn't hit them since they weren't in visible range, but one howitzer tried to move forward, and my M10 blew it to Hell. Another objective was on hill to the far left, which was attacked by 4 halftracks, each with infantry squad loaded in them. I had two Shermans, and four Rifle 44 squads attacking the first two groups, but the last two were eliminated by one Sherman, and three Rifle 44 squads. The other Sherman was attacking the remaining infantry advancing on the middle objective. I also had three Rifle 44 squads and my Platoon HQ assistng the Sherman in the middle. Meanwhile I had troops to the east with my M10, which was knocked out by a Howitzer shell. I sent the troops, which included 3 Rifle 44 squads, 2 bazookas, PLatoon HQ, and a m1919 mg, into the woods. I snuck them up to the road where two halftracks, and a Howitzer were parked. My bazookas came under fire by infantry in the middle objective, so i 2 rifle 44 squads attack them back. I ran my 2 bazookas up the parked vehicles, and in one utrn, BAM!!!! I took out both halftracks adn the howitzer. The hlaftracks troops bailed out, but weer mowed down by my MG, a 44 squad, and platoon! Thanks everyone for reading. Igonna go play with Stoffel now!

I finally beat it on the same save I described to you before. I used a slight Sherman advance in the direction of the Hotel. I sent three tanks through the side streets to engage the hotchkiss and the usual.. Mg-42 squads, infantry, sicherungs...It worked and I only lost one of those three, when I tried to dirve it to capture the hotel, but it was a ttacked by a bunch of infantry. The other two took out those infantry and captured the point. My T10's took out all but one of Tigers, adn Panzers. They hit form behind and surprised the Germans, who began scrambling for the Last objective. The met up there adn tried to counterattack, adn there was a lull in the fighting since my tnaks couldn't see throgh the walls. I had my tnaks attack the building and they destroyed it exposing the remaning squads... infantry with 10 casualties, HQ with 3 casualties 1 left, and an mg42 who surrendered. So the remaining 5 troops who were routed, and broken, kept me form getting a major victory. Stupid punks

I'm a newbie, so if you know any scenarios that came with the game, that I could start out with please let me know. P.S. - I Finally liberated Paris. It was a MInor Victory, but it was a victory.

PLease someone help me! I paused the game to come out here and tell you that my plan is going good so far. I used a textbook tank thrust against MG42 squad, took em out along with 2 infantry platoons, and a crew. Then took out Hotchkiss, two Panzers, adn I only lost 2 Sherman!
