Although I don't care much for damage mods, it would be nice to see a total reworking of the Tigers in game.

    Yes, it would, wouldn't it?

  2. I've only recently started playing ops again, having liked them in CMBO. I just finished the Gemmano op available from the Scenario Depot. It started off slowly but in the end was one of those real chaotic nail-biters that make you really appreciate the game and the extent of the AI to really surprise you (both literally and figuratively) sometimes.

I really need to go leave a review. smile.gif

Your J's very nice indeed. I would have my own a late G model to go along with it, but doing the camou scheme is giving me fits. Doing camou always gives me fits.

Yeah, I just noticed that my Web host has given me unlimited bandwidth so I figured I could host a couple mods there. I'm sure at some point they'll get wise and cut me off, since I think it's due to an error on their part, but until then it's download city! :D

I hate doing camouflage, too. I like the look when it turns out well, and it does a great job hiding imperfections in the BMPs ;) , but I usually end up painting it two or three times before it's acceptible. I developed this smushy blurry camou type so that I could be lazy and avoid having to accurately match up the pattern on the different BMPs.

That said I think the ambush pattern turned out pretty ok. I'm looking forward to your late G. I think I'll throw together an H with Zimmerit and some sort of camouflage and leave it at that. smile.gif

  4. Alright, modsluts, I decided to finish these things up and post them for download. I just noticed that my Web host has for some reason given me unlimited data transfer (we'll see how long that lasts) so you can download the zip files from my server for a limited time. smile.gif

Here are some screenies of the final versions--there are two, a "late-production" Panzer IVJ with mesh skirts and tricolor camo and a Panzer IVJ with ambush camouflage and solid skirts.

Andrew did you ever do anything with the French uniforms?

There are new pics today at AHF Reinactors thread

I haven't done much with the Frenchies. Well, I guess it would be more accurate to say I haven't done anything with them. Not a lot of modding time these days. Haven't even been able to finish the Panzer IV properly. Good photos, though. I need a clear picture of the French infantry tunic/field blouse/whatever since we can't really depict the greatcoat that most of the soldiers seem to be wearing. One of those photos shows one which might be good enough for visual reference.

In my CMAK the Vickers always shared BMPs with the M1917 Browning, and although both BMPs were included in the folder, only one was used. Somewhere along the line I lost the BMP number for the Vickers, which caused a problem with the patched game. It's fixed now, thanks for the help. smile.gif

  6. I just now noticed that my Vickers MGs in CMAK are big black rectangles mounted on tripods, which I don't believe is historically accurate. I guess it was changed in one of the patches (the 1.03 readme mentions it in conjunction with the user interface) so that it no longer shared 1943.BMP with the US M1917 HMG, which I can see in-game just fine. The BMP folder in the 1.03 patch for Mac does not contain any Vickers related BMPs. Anyone know the correct BMP number or, barring that, what's going on?

I already did a search here and didn't find any info.

Andrew, I emailed you 2 to 3 weeks ago, regarding the jagdpanzermod I´ve done(based on your mod). Did you get that mail? Haven´t heard from you, so I might as well ask of your permission here to upload those mods when the time comes.

    Gurra

Oops. I did look at your e-mail moments before I headed out the door for vacation a couple weeks ago, but promptly forgot about it... until now. ;) Feel free to use whatever you like. smile.gif
  8. Ok, it's really the same old Panzer IVJ that I've shown here before, except that it's almost ready. smile.gif

I've toned down the camouflage colors quite a bit, and added a few more details. A couple small corrections and it'll be good to go. Haven't had much time to mod lately, but I managed to get in a little the last couple days.

Screenies show the original late-model Panzer IVJ with wire mesh skirts and alternate damaged solid skirts for those who have problems with the mesh transparency thing.

Update: I also decided a version with ambush camouflage would be appropriate. I guess I'll release both. The forthcoming Panzer IVH will have an as-yet-undetermined camo scheme and Zimmerit. smile.gif

    Almost there...

  9. Those look like Gordon Molek's work, but I could be wrong.

I modded all the Jagdpanzer IVs included in CMAK. I'm pretty sure the IV/70 version is available in CMAK, since it has some specific textures to set it apart from the normal Jagdpanzer IV (and JPIV early). My mods don't look like that, though so they might not be what you desire. They can be found at http://www.cmmods.com/ , which seems to be unavailable right now.

Andrew, you may want to do a close up of your creation and just double check.

I can get as close as I please (within reason) and it still looks fine to me. smile.gif Sorry you're having problems. Should have bought Macs, I guess. ;)

I'll make sure to include a set of solid skirts as an option.

That's good to hear and see, it looks great.

I tried the only other screen mesh skirt I can find at the moment and that is the one for the Hungarian Tanks, and that same effect happens in cmbb as I get with the made for cmbo Pz4 wire mess skirt.

I tried both skirts in cmak on the PzIV-J and get the same results.

I hear what your saying Pzman, but it doesn't seemed to matter about summer or winter models.

So it would appear that how the skirt is made may have some effect on this, and, or maybe the type of computer being view on and videocard type and driver version may have something too do with things also.

    I'm running a windowsXP machine with a geforce 4-4200 and 41.09 drivers

Do you not, or anybody else for that matter not have that problem with the Hungarian Turan 2 late wire mesh screen turret skirt.

Yo j2d, a awful lot of that cmbo stuff of mine still needs a lot of rework yet, but I doubt if I'll ever get a chance to polish up any of the stuff.

I wonder if it's a video card issue. The Hungarian tank with mesh skirts (the Turan II) looks ok on my Mac with an old ATI Radeon 32MB. How do other transparencies look? There really isn't much of a trick to the mesh skirt look, it's just a pattern of pink pixels that the game reads as transparent.
