  1. hi I'm playing that game for a long time now but I have to confess that I used to play the Germans most of the time. But in my current email battles I was forced (brutally!!!) to play the Russians. I've found that nice and cheap 81mm spotter with 250 rounds and in my first game it worked perfectly. Ok, the Russians need a bit more time before the arty comes down but that is ok. But now I've experienced it in TWO email battles that my arty was coming down severyl hundred meters left of the target. Adjusting fire didn't help anything. Did I overlook something? Do I need a company commander or something? I'm really a bit confused and would appreciate if anyone can give an answer. Thanx in advance Mika
  2. Hi! The subject says all. I just want to be sure that there are drivers that fixed that bug before I order that card. And if not... how will this affect the game? Is there no fog visible at all? Or is there some kind of strange graphics with fog? Thanx in advance Mika
  3. hi all I've heard that fog and smoke doesn't work with ATI cards and I though about buying the ATI Raedon 8500. So will I have problems? Is that problem fixed by new drivers? Or didn't exist that problem at all? thanx Mika [ 01-06-2002: Message edited by: LLv34_Mika ]</p>
  4. LOL on the map next to me is nice... next time use a spotter and not your thumb I checked twice if the spotter fired but the fire was to precise to be rocket fire... and it wouldn't explain the smaller shells anyways... May be Switzerland is not so neutral as we might think!? Mika
  5. I've searched a bit but couldn't find out if my opponent of choice already asked about that (Greetings Monty) Situation was this... VERY near to my troops some smaller (81mm - no craters) and some really scaring (means craters) shells startet raining down. In the mail he sent me I saw the line... "was that your arty?" HUH!? I had just a 150mm rocket spotter left and he did NOT fire, that's clear. So if he didn't fire as well what other explanation is possible??? I don't like it if a third party joins my opponent and starts attacking me Salute Mika
  6. I meantioned that they were NOT panicked... status was "shakened" that is no reason for escaping "Hans, Karl, Fritz... leeeeeeeeeegt an!"
  7. hi all just saw how my infantrists assoulted a Priest (I think such an assoult function is missing, pls correct me if I'm wrong) They ran 20m from scattered trees to a brush behind a small hill to take cover there and hide again. May be 5m to go and these idiots turned around because they were under infantry fire (not the Priest). They ran the whole way back instead of taking the shorter way and take cover there... and they didn't fire back and no, there were not in panic, just shaken... not even pinned. Oh well... they will get problems if they survive that
  8. when I remember my Stug IV knocked out by a Stuart (front upper hull) I have to say weak point ok... but for some VERY small weapons it should not even be possible to knock them out if they hit a "weaker" point... who says that a weak point is always so wheak that it is knocked out!? I hate those 0/1 options... Mika ...missing his beloved Stug IV
  9. hi all well, the subject says all... I captured a bazooka team (both alive) and have no crew of a killed vehicle near. so where can I bring them now if I don't want that these guys escape again... the only possible thing is to bring them to a platoon. I'm sure that two squads of this platoon have been spotted (hiding in brush) but I'm not sure about the other two squads. So will these captured unit spot the other two or is it "dead" for the other side? regards Mika
  10. but most interesting... what is paragraph no six? confidential? the scecret weapon? please tell us... or another way to drive us crazy? Mika
  11. concerning the spotter... that coward was in panic since the 3rd turn I think. And never calmed down. If he wouldn't have been captured I would have shot him personally But to everyone here... a sniper escaped... and he brought me the information I need (btw, he fled in panic and was shot after he told me everything) and I will strike back... Luck can decide a battle... but MIKAAAAAA will win the war!!!!! MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! Mika ...still wondering how 37mm can penetrate over 80mm of GERMAN steel [This message has been edited by LLv34_Mika (edited 04-02-2001).]
  12. About the Panthers weak side and rear armor... The Stuart should never see the side of the Panther since it stood behind a house... and moved when the Stuart should be already dead. Imagine your spy stole secret information and succeeded... but he has it just in his mind. And in the same moment he opens his mouth he has a heart attack and is dead. Same here... my Stug already faced the much weaker Stuart and when it was may be one second to fire it was knocked out by a lucky shot. And the Panthers move was possible under the condition (and that was VERY likely) that the Stug kills the Stuart. That's what I meant... great game, yes... but why always me??????????? Mika
  13. Hi all! I'm playing a scenario against monty (my first one at all) and I placed a Stug IV to cover my flank... and I was right, a Stuart V appeared there... my Stug turned to point at his tank but he was to near and fast to turn fast enough. But at least my thick (80mm) front armor was there.. and then the stuart fired its 37mm gun... WEAK POINT front hull hit! Stug IV knocked out... the same time a panther moved back under the condition that my Stug will annihilate the Stuart and booom, side hull hit and the panther was dead too. What do you think gents? Lost both tanks only because a poor 37mm cannon hit the "weak point" of a Stug IV and the Stuart knocked out two superior tanks in the same turn... as German general I would have to commit suicide now, right? Mika
  14. Hi all! subject says all... even when I select crawl and hide or something the sometimes fire when they should just spot the enemy until I bring in troops to kill them. Or who wants to do recon jobs with the really dangerous units? what if ur enemy is already there... So is there a way to prevent that these guys will shoot? I want to see my enemy but I don't like it to be seen just because those pigheaded guys don't know what I want, fire back and reveal their position. Any thoughts/comments? cheers, Mika
