  1. It must be the drivers than, because I don't have AA turn on. Which drivers for the Geforce 4 is everyone running?
  2. Hey Guys, I just recently rebuilt my computer system and when after loading my favorite wargame, CMBO, I only get a black screen when the game attempts to load. I came here to the tech support site and used the search engine, but didn't seem to find any solutions pertinent to my situation. Yes, I am running v1.12. Here are my system specs: Epox 8rda+ mobo, AMD XP 2100, 512MB of Corsair XMS pc3200 DDR memory, Maxtor 80GB Hard Drive limited edition, Geforce 4 ti4400 graphics card. My OS is Windows XP Home edition with all the updates and service packs installed. This actually has to be done in order for the nvidia nforce 2 mobo to run properly, found this out the hard way. I also have the most recently released Nvidia Detonater 41.09 installed. All of my other games run perfect and I havn't had any other problems, so I'm a little confused over this. Any help would be greatly appreciated, because this is depressing that I can't get my fix of CMBO.
  3. Just to let all of you guys know, the new Nvidia drivers 40 do work with CombatMission Beyond Overlord, with AA turned on. There is a trick though to get running right. When you initially load the game you will here the music but will only get a black screen, if you hit the escape button on your keyboard, you will be taken to the desktop. You will see CombatMission on your toolbar at the bottom, left click on this , and when the game screen pops back up it will work. You are correct though in saying AA will not run with CMBB demo, none of the driver versions will, I've tried them all. I hope this is something that will be fixed, because when this game is running with AA turned on, it is simply incredible to look at, especially with some of those great mods that have been done.
  4. The most important thing is to make sure you have all of the most current drivers for all of your hardware, and all of the current Windows updates. It sounds to me like you were running a resolution and refresh rate that your system couldn't handle, that is why it crashed. If this happens again, just hit the reset button on your system case and restart in safemode by pressing down the F8 button right before Windows starts to load. This will just load the generic drivers and allow you to access your control panel to reset your resolution and refresh rates. Once you do this reboot the system and allow it to start normally. This should take care of any problems you might have.
  5. Has anyone seen TalonSofts' newest offering. It's called "G.I. Combat" and looks very similar to "Combat Mission". Not that another wargame offering is ever a bad thing, but I'm not entirely pleased with some of TalonSofts' buisness practices of the past. I believe this is a company run more by lawyers than gamers. I cannot see TalonSoft creating a game with open code, the way BattleFront has, allowing all the great user created mods to come out. They also claim that their game will feature realtime strategy. I guess I'm old fashioned, because I prefer the turn base of wargames like "Combat Mission". Being a father with three kids and a fulltime job, my life is realtime strategy enough. I like to be able to control the pace of the game myself.
  6. I just upgraded my sytem last week. I got an Abit KT133A mobo, 256mb of Corsair pc133 Ram, AMD Thunderbird 1000mhz, and a Leadtek GeForce 2 GTS Pro. Combat Mission runs absolutely great with this setup. It looks really great if you turn on the 4x antialiasing feature, the only problem is the text gets scrambled. Which is a shame , because the graphics are so smooth, it's like watching a movie.
  7. Can someone tell me how to change the resolution settings , are they tied in to the desktop settings?
