  1. Thanx, but 3 treucks and a Kübelwagen are cheaper. I do in fact do this. I have a PBEM where I just piled a platoon of regular FJ in trucks and packed 'em off to the action (using cover of course), much to the suprise of my opponents. All of a sudden what he thought was 2 platoons max, turns out to be 3.
  2. Why don't they have any motors then? They just seem to be an expensive choice of infantry. Armoured infantry get HTs, but not a truck for the motorised. Suggestions?
  3. That, my friend, has had historians for 60 years. Face it. We had NO idea about armor. We trundled around in big, tall things with the protective properties of a brown paper bag, and the best gun we came out with by '45 was about on par with the Germans in 1937. The Germans learned from Russian sloping armour, did we? They came out with the Jagdkampfwagens like the Jagdpanther, and we answered with the Archer, and that doesn't even face forward. But he still totally needs to learn to use the Allies though. Hey, tell yer what Security Guard, I'll give you a PBEM, and I'll play with one 88 tied behind my back.
  4. I must admit, I had heard that the "W" suffix was not for WHOOSH but actually WHUMPH. This was indeed a tag for incediary properties. Tank repair crews soon found that WHUMPH was enough.
  5. no, not to RE-position them. Just to position them where you want to over the op map once would be great
  6. Forgot to mention that they are all un-padlocked.
  7. I can't get an answer to this question. Am I overlooking something that makes this a silly question and am too blind to see it? I am referring to a problem I have with setting-up all fortifications in operations, but I will write using mines as the example, but it equally applies to pill-boxes, wire, TRPs ets. I have a lovely operation I've made, and I want the axis player to be able to lay his mines as he sees fit. An operation map is a large map, and only a small part is shown in the battle window during each battle, the rest of the operation map being unaccessible. Now, I have tried seperating the mines into coloured setup zones that will be revealed in the battle window during the advancement of the operation , but after battle 1, no matter where the mines are put on the operation map in the editor during its creation is where they stay. I can't buy them as reinforcements to come on to the map at a later point either. I'm stuck, I want to be able to play this game as the allies as well, without knowing where all the axis fortifications and minefields are in advance. It would be a real shame if I were stuck with that as the only option. I can't seem to rationalise this state of affairs into why this could be so in real life, but I can't.

  9. I have a problem with mine laying in operations, beyond the first battle. I have a huge Op map, and as the Germans are being pushed back by the assaulting Allies, I want the Axis player to be able to place EITHER all his mines through out the zoned portion of the operation map before the first batlle OR to be able to place mines in the coloured setup areas as they are uncovered during the setup phase of that battle in the course of the operation. How can I do either, without using the entire 1600x4000 operation map (which of course I can't)for each battle?. As it seems to work now, I can't see mines placed further back, off of the "battle window" of the Op map and so can't place them and as the operation proceeds and they are uncovered in their coloured setup zones they are locked in place at the point they were placed (and not on "locked") in the Editor This will then put the icing in the cake of my Black Forest operation

  11. I have a nice map that I have designed, and I would like to set it up so that players may purchase their own units, like you can with a quickstart battle. The reason for this is to keep a bit of mystery in PBEM games. Does anyone know how this can be done or indeed if? I am sure it would be a simple piece of code to put this in the parameters window, again, much the same way that is in the quick-start option ------------------ If in doubt, bombard it to nowt.
