  1. I noticed this morning that there is now an internal forum labled "Combat Mission 2 Beta Area" with 200+ topics and over 2000 posts. This may have already been discussed, but I wasn't aware that CM2 was that close to going beta. Anyone know what the deal with this is? Cheers, Sean
  2. >Did you change anything on your computer >right before you started crashing ? >Installed a new program, new/updated >driver, changed a CMOS setting, etc. ? The odd thing is that I haven't made any changes or added any programs or perpherials to my system in some time. Still, just to be safe I've uninstalled just about everything on my system. My TNT2 is using the NVIDA drivers, version 4.12.01.0522. I'll try installing the version you recommend this evening and will also check my chipset. I'm a little doubtful this is the source of the problem as CM had run fine for two months on the same drivers before this, but it certainly can't hurt to try. I'm beginning to suspect something in the win.ini or registry, as you suggest, might be the problem. I'm not quite sure what else to try, but as a last resort I might try installing Windows ME to see if that helps. Anyway, thanks for the suggestions Schrullenhaft. Cheers, Sean
  3. My apologies for cross-posting, but I just realized I posted this in the wrong fourm earlier today. . . Hi all, I've been playing CM versions 1.02-.05 since July on my K6-2 system (specs follow) with no problems. Suddenly a couple of days ago the game started crashing on me. Anywhere from 30 sec. to 10 min. into a game session I hear a "ding" sound (sounds like the Windows alert sound) and the game freezes. The only key that works is "esc" which gets me back to the desktop and also terminates the CM program. From there I can start CM again, but invariably experience the same problem. I've reinstalled DirectX 7 and my TNT2 drivers, totally uninstalled intilipoint, removed all nonesstential programs, run a virus check, unistalled and reinstalled CM, and reinstalled Windows (twice!) and still have the same problem. Any further suggestions would be greatly appreciated! My system specs are as follows: AMD K6-2 500 with 3d now 128M SDRAM TNT2 M64 32meg AGP video Windows 98 SE Cheers, Sean
