In addition ammunition in compartmentalized ready-racks have a little bit more protection from low velocity hot splinters.

I read a study that basically said the same thing.

If you removed this factor, how many of these tactics would fall apart?

Not to mention "absolute" flanks where you can bum rush up a flank with zero fear.

    What thread is that?

In such cases, M1s are useless for combat is rarely, if ever, seen. Their high operating cost males them a liability in such cases.

And the counter-argument is two fold, should we be in peace-keeping/making and is it really better to mold a force to be ready for peace-keeping/making but unprepared for a major war or to have it ready for major war but less suited for peace-keeping/making?

History seems to show that as soon as you think a big war isn't comming one does.

Why does some one from the deep south have an accent when talking to another in English? Why do Brits have an accent when talking (from an American's POV)? Accents are real, even with the same language.

You are aware people are not jsut random singular creatures and that some trends do take place. You are aware that even the most derranged of or society can be profiled and grouped. Does that mean we are a herd? No. Does that mean that some are superior to others? No. Are you folks way to defensive? Yes. Most importantly if we cannot ask questions and be open to listen to views on how people video game then my god something approaching a world with less racism and hate is unachievable. Geez take a breath and calm down. Gee huh huh wouldn't want a forum where we ask question huh Cleatus? (this last line is a impersontion of some of the people in this thread right now!)

You could probably rationalize a KKK meeting as bringing two sides together...

I guess people deep down need to be snobs about something, anything, so they can lord it over others.

All I can say is this is the most biased and unscientific "analysis" I've ever read on this board. And yes, I'm disgusted.

    Agree.

Any FPS fan who has even the tiniest inkling of interest in the gaming industry would have no problems grasping the concept of strategy and war games... in fact, most of them probably play a few.

Please, please, please don't go stereotyping an entire group... especially in such a broad, incorrect manner. Shudder. I hate it when people do that frown.gif

Let them go. It makes 'em feel superior.

It would also be great to have a link to it in your signature so we can find it (I have 200 or so bookmarks and the number of them called "Combat Mission" is starting to get confusing). Griffin mentioned an online version?

Get the Microsoft Excel viewer for FREE!

This download is for users who don't have Excel; it allows them to open and view Excel 97 and Excel 2000 spreadsheet files.

After all the trouble the Reich went to, to arrange such a fine tactical and strategic war, the Allies turn out to be gamey and place such an importance on winning.

You just can't trust an enemy anymore!

Unfortuantly, they never figured out how to "game" the mechanics of physics or had the benefit of map edges to secure flanks and so on.

It is odd that those "pro-gamey" generally attack those who are not as trying to be too realistic but always seem to try and resort to realsim to explain why what they do is somehow not "gamey".
