  1. Again I have to apologize, this time for not thanking Margo for his timely and thorough answer to my question. I also wanted to respond to Porajkl who thinks I may be a little "different" and said: "Once you have the equation, it's easy to solve it, especially easy one like this one... So, our friend must be, hmm, "different" from the rest of people. He can easily put up with statistical equations but he cannot solve easy math equations with one unknown variable. Strange." That equation is in fact easy to find an answer to, which I did with no problem in my head (albiet I do have to make a couple notations on paper). The problem I was having is that my damn computer and I think a bit differently. Therefore I needed to have the equation phrased in an algebraic format in order to get my program to solve for x.
  2. Damn I didn't realize asking for help with one little equation would create such a stir. I would just like to answer Juardis's question to me as to how this equation has anything to do with CM. I don't feel like a full explanation of what I am working on is needed, but I will say that it is an equation to calculate the probability of an event occuring. Lets just say I may take my gaming a little too seriously. I did try to get someone to provide me with some help at an algebra help site, but I never got any response. Being that the demographic makeup of the people who play this game and read this board is above average as far as intelligence is concerned (although it may be a little behind in social development) I felt comfortable that someone would be able to help me out. I apologize for any inconvenience that I caused.
  3. The answer is 1.5473576832 I just can't do the work. If you could show me the work I would much appreciate it.
  4. I am sorry if my algebra skills are not up to your high standards Juardis. I haven't had to mess with it since college. You could of just helped a CM brother out instead of chastising my meager abilities.
  5. I am working on a combat mission related project and I ran into algebra related impasse. Can someone please solve this for X? Don't forget to show your work =) (((0.091*28.82)-x)*92.736)*100 = ((7.264*100)*(41-(28.82-x)))
  6. Damn I wish I had one of these babies in a hull down position in my back yard. http://www.hyperscale.com/features/jagdpantherds_1.htm
  7. She said most guys usually get their pants off first. But then you are her only son. ------------------ If the eyes in my head worked as well as the ones in my a$$ I would be a millionaire

  9. Just wondering if MadMatt negotiated an incentive into his contract with BTS that allows for a bonus if he reaches a certain number of padlocked threads? If so I would say the funding for CM2 may be in serious jeopardy. Oh oh I see a bald guy coming with a masterlock in their hand. ------------------ If the eyes in my head worked as well as the ones in my a$$ I would be a millionaire
  10. I know that one advantage is that the parts are slightly cheaper when purchased as a company. Probably to offset the cost of the company HQ, which you can't buy otherwise and is a distinct advantage in itself. ------------------ If the eyes in my head worked as well as the ones in my a$$ I would be a millionaire [This message has been edited by Baker350 (edited 10-26-2000).]
  11. Are there alot of paintball players playing CM? It would seem to be an overlapping market to some respects. I have played in the NPPL for a few years(since 1994), and I hope CM will teach me to read fields a bit better Baker ------------------ If the eyes in my head worked as well as the ones in my a$$ I would be a millionaire
  12. Ok I have read about this before but never seen it myself. Here's the scoop. I have an axis squad of 10 gerbil mountain troopers in a heavy building, after the 60 seconds is over arty is still dropping and the 10 man squad turns into a 9 man squad of panic stricken men. I hit go and there they are 9 gerbil troopers, with lumps in their shorts. Now I watch the movie again. This time watching all the the way thru and then rewinding at the end to anytime before the arty barrage scared my poor little gerbils, and what do you know 10 gerbils again and they arent even panicked anymore. I can also now give them move orders, where as I couldn't if I hit the go button when they were panicked. Waaassssuuppp with this? 13. I may be wrong but there is no way to pause between 2 movement orders. If, while plotting a turn, you order a unit to pause they will pause at the start of the turn, not in between an already plotted movement and a movement order that was just added. Pause orders take precedence over all other orders. The reason your HT stopped in between the 2 orders was due to the normal command delay (8 seconds for vet, 13 seconds for regular)not because of the pause order you gave the HT. Maybe that is why the troops didn't disembark. ------------------ If the eyes in my head worked as well as the ones in my a$$ I would be a millionaire
