1. Ok, Kleist may have been a little quick in his judgement, but.. what are we smoking here? 4X strategy game? "Mythical 30's like universe"? Huh? If you had bothered to read more than the first two lines of the game description you just might have been pleasantly surprised. FYI, they have not set out to do 'Axis & Allies meets Starcraft' here. Judging by their previous effort, Europa Universalis II, their new WW2 game won't have too many shortcomings in the historically correct department. No need of slamming any one game really. Both might very well turn out cool and then we will be twice as happy. Grand strategy games are far and few between after all. [ April 24, 2002, 08:52 AM: Message edited by: yarrick ]
2. I also agree with the above suggestions. Multi-player PBEM games involving >2 players would be extremely cool!
3. Pretty sweet! Looks like a winner. I was just beginning to wonder why no one makes grand strategic games anymore, there hasn't really been a good one since Clash of Steel in 1993(?) after all. Then all of a sudden Paradox Entertainment (the company behind Europa Universalis series) announces Hearts of Iron, a grand strategic WW2 game. And now Strategic Command!! Coool! Very much looking forward to be PBEMing this game!

Whilst in the interim, men of letters such as we, bask in the glory of knowing that WE can engage in CO-OP play to our heart's content.

Well, yes, I'm sure it works the way you described but what a hassle! I've got the feeling that most of the people who want CO-OP was thinking more of a networked CO-OP mode where two players (for example) on the same side plot their own actions/moves simultaneously. So, it would basically work like a normal network game except that instead of 2 players, maybe 2-6 players each get a bunch of units assigned to them and then all players would be planning their own unit actions simultaneously. That would really be something!
5. Yes a CO-OP mode would be extremely cool! They pulled it off in Sid Meiers Gettysburg and boy was it fun playing 2 on 2! It's really the only thing missing in this game from making me abandon Real Life altogether!
6. Hey I had the same problem.. I simply deleted the 1500-1519 bmps and unzipped the gridded ones. Works fine. Cheers Mattias
7. HAHAHAaHA!! ROFL!!!! Some people have a better grasp of irony than others.. hehe Hilarious replies on that one RMC, good one.
8. Hello guys! I'm thinking of changing the menu music in CM, so instead of the old tune I want some basic military march to replace it. Now, does anyone know some decent march music? NOT the kind of "bombastic" march music with trumpets, trombones, strings and stuff though! Just the simple kind of march with a plain drum (and maybe a fife(?) thrown in). Any help is greatly appreciated! CM is a very fine game btw!
