  1. GMT +0100 but my PBEM-stack is more than full at the moment. Could change in the future of course. Hopefully. Or the day gets longer Patric ------------------ George: Oh sir, just one thing. If we should happen to tread on a mine, what do we do? Edmund Blackadder: Well, normal procedure, Lieutenant, is to jump 200 feet into the air and scatter yourself over a wide area.
  2. Completely Off-Topic, but as a german I feel I should give a short answer, to what Minnesota Joe wrote. >Yes the Germans and the Austrians are >ashamed of what their ancestors did, but is >forgeting about really the beat think to do? No it's definitely not. And most of us don't try to forget, we try to remember it. The only thing to prevent such terrible things from happening again is to remember them. >The people there either dont know or dont >want to talk about it. Yes, there are people, who don't want to talk about it. There are even people, who try to forestall exhibitions, discussions and such. I remember a touring exhibition called "Verbrechen der Wehrmacht" (Crimes of the Wehrmacht). Someone laid a bomb in one of the builings in one location. But most of us are pretty aware, what was going on 33 - 45. And yes, we are ashamed of it. OK, back to non-political mode and back to the game. After all, this is the CM forum. Hey Matt, glad to hear you like it in germany. Have fun! Yes, it's possible to have fun in germany. Believe it or not. Patric
  3. Ooops, there we have another poll. this is Karlsruhe, Germany calling. Just a little east of Strassbourg, near the Schwarzwald... very near. Edmund Blackadder: Well, normal procedure, Lieutenant, is to jump 200 feet into the air and scatter yourself over a wide area.
  4. I just want to throw in a thought about this age poll Zamo has startet in another thread. I got the full version of the game about 3 weeks ago, ordered it after one day of playing the gold demo. I've been lurking in this forum without registering or replying to any threads. I simply wanted to see, who is here and why. And, of course I wanted to learn from the old and wise amongst us I was not sure if the things going on were really non-political. About a week ago, two topics nearly convinced me, that my time reading posts here is over for me, cause they had some sort of odor I didn't like. But yesterday I saw the age poll and was surprised. Checked back today and was simply amazed. About 170 replies from all over the world and from all ages. All friendly or simply giving away the asked-for-information, others making nutty comments. Just reading the signatures made me laugh sometimes. So, since then I'm seeing this forum in another light. I'm having even more fun reading the messages coming in. And CM has got a nice new twist. So, thank you BTS for one of the best games I've seen since my Commodore64 days. And thanks to all taking part in this forum. And special thanks to Zamo for making this clear to me. Cheers to you Patric ------------------ George: Oh sir, just one thing. If we should happen to tread on a mine, what do we do? 5. So, giving hope to anyone waiting here in good ole Germany for the game: ordered it on a Sunday, got in the mail next saturday. That makes 6 days for delivery to Germany. Impressive BTS, very impressive. Note: at the time I ordered CM it was in stock (got the 1.02 CD). I played many PC games before the day I found the gold demo. Now it's only one. And we have a little LAN-Party this weekend, but I'm not so enthusiastic about it as the last time. I wonder, if I can talk my friends into a CM Hotseat Tournament Tiger, hope your copy arrives soon... Patric ------------------ George: Oh sir, just one thing. 6. i'm 31 years old (young?). but if i maintain my current lifestyle, i won't reach the age to see CM2 ------------------ George: Oh sir, just one thing.
