1. I would like to see the ability of vehicle crews and gun crews to rally and return to the vehicle or gun where they had run from...or maybe other units to use parts of them to fight...ie: perhaps if a unit comes to a tank that has been abandoned it could use the machine gun mounted to the top (if it had one). Also as a few other people have mentioned, i think there should be trenches in the second game. And what maybe include a few of the different options for German units...like maybe playing Romanian or Italian units...even though they were not as tough as German units..or at least they were treated a little more roughly by the Germans. If you're going to incorporate volkstrum...you might as well go all out.
 2. I know what you're saying about all the weapons not being puny. I'd love to do some blitzkrieg with the earlier tank models. The panther is nice...but I think it would be a more challenging game if you had only a pz-38t to go with.
 3. Having just finished another marathon session with the game...I was just wondering to myself if anyone else here remembers a game called Kampfgruppe by SSI. This was my first wargame for the computer and I played it on my Atari {yes it's true} 800xl. It was a game set in the eastern front, pitting you against either the German or Soviet army, depending on your preference. Basically you had only icons that you moved around a map with circles and lines drawn to represent rivers, hills, valleys and the like. Artillery barrages were represented by the cursor flashing red over the unit icon briefly.... I guess my question would be to you all, what do you think the next step will be in computer wargaming? This game has obviously raised the bar for realism...but what do you think the next step will be? I'm just curious....

Watching 60 seconds, then loading another PBEM and watching 60 seconds, then loading another etc etc. is not my idea of fun. There are many games that allow recording of the entire battle like Age of Kings and Total Annihilation (yankspankers patch). Being a software programmer myself, I don't think that this would be too great a task, probably can be done in like 3 hours. I want the following: 1. A function that allows you to select an entire pbem directory, and then compiles all of the movies into one big movie file. 2. Allows playback of the entire movie with NO fog of war. 3. contains the VCR buttons that the normal game has. Then I can imagine an archive full of great CM battles that I can download. We could all make popcorn, drink soda, while watching some great entertaining battles. come on battlefront, YOU CAN DO IT, ADD THIS FEATURE PLEASE!!!

----------------- I also think that would be a great addition to an already great game, but i'm sure that if they don't put that into this game, they'll surely incorporate that into the sequel.
 5.
quote:
Originally posted by Dallas: Two things... Firstly, I am thinking that the HitlerJugend division was comprised solely of those born in 1926 because 1926 is the year of the Tiger in Eastern Astrology. The Tiger is the most aggressive and spirited sign in Eastern Astrology. If I was forming divisions, I would definitely use Tigers given the opportunity. I think Himmler thought this as well. Their subsequent battle history speaks for itself in terms of ferocity and tenacity (if not intelligence). My mates think it was just Himmler scraping the bottom of the manpower barrel but I am thinking otherwise... any thoughts? Secondly, I would like to conduct an Eastern Astrological, Western Astrological and Numerological survey on those who frequent the board and thus are interested in wargaming. If you also would like to see the results, please post your date of birth in mm dd yy format and I will collate, interpret and post the results. If the response is good enough for a decent sample, I think it could make very interesting reading. However, if you're in to the Eastern front and would like a great book to read, check out one called "The Forgotten Soldier." It's about the life on the eastern front lived through the eyes of a member of the Grossdeuchland divsion from 42-45. I wish I could remember the name of the author, but my copy is no more, it was a paperback {like Stalingrad} and it is now gone, but reading your post will remind me to get to Amazon.com and order a new copy! One other book you might want to check out is "The Last Battle", by Cornelius Ryan.
 7. All I have to say is that I read the review, downloaded the demo and bought the game all in one day....nuff said? Awesome game guys...I played close combat and steel panthers...they don't compare with what you've done. Hope to see the next installment with the eastern front incorporated.
