  1. And let's not forget who helped communist revolution in order to win Russians in WWI. Germans
  2. Russians killed the ground forces and Western allies destroyed naval and air force. Plus bombarded several German cities brutally to the ground. I think that soviet and nazi regime are pretty much two sides of the same coin. The clash was between them was inevidable.
  3. Elevate the game to the next level and add battalion/regimental strategic planning&command. Plan maneuvers on strategic map and resolve battles on tactical level with an option to automatically resolve battles. WWII European theatre deluxe 1940-1945 release would be nice, although a HUGE project.
  4. The idea about AI-control sounds pretty reasonable to me. It would prevent any misuse of the pistol armed fellas. I wonder how eagerly in real life vehicle crews were ready to charge at the enemy armed only with pistols, while infantry sits on ther arses spotting gun flashes.
  5. And little birds just keep pn singing despite of how much iron there flies in the air. If they keep on singing in CM2 during Kursk or Stalingrad I go crazy.
  6. I have a PC. But try doing postscript graphics or broadcast quality editing on a PC and you are into trouble up to your ears. You can only digitise few minutes at time because of the windows file size limits, postscript files do not show up correctly. Byu zillions of extra cards and still nothing doesn't work like it is supposed to. MAC also retains it's value much longer. In two years you can haul your "Power PC" out of the window. Not a MAC lover but for work I prefer MACs.
  7. Jumping mines can explain the "My arm!" , but the MG surely seemed to hang in the thin air. Anyhow this is a graphic bugey, if there exists an perfecly legal viewing angle from which the unit is displayed incorrectly. But name me one 3D engine which does not have graphic buggies
  8. I witnessed a couple of funny things during my last game of CM. First was clearly a graphic bug. A MG-section that occupied an upper level of a house moved to an adjacent foxhole, but... it did so simply just moving horizontally and was levitating in the air above the foxhole and the game insisted that it indeed was in the foxhole! No anti-grav belts were invented during 40's. Second funny occurence was when a US squad entered a minefield. I was laying low wanting to open fire at close range and there was the sound of mine going of like "whutumphhh!" and then came the shout: "My arm!" I could not hold back from laughing. The Americans were walking on their hands

  10. I don't believe my eyes anymore! First the grid and here come the hexes. As I said, no wonder that the wargaming society does no aquire any new blood, since it time after time retards back to non-flexible dinosaurian thinking and traditions.
  11. ...and movies not real either because of the lack of time and space continuum, 2D presentation etc. Heck the only 3D representations that I know are produced by sculpture and industrial design. Oh and the IMAX...
  12. Nothing wrong with board games or chess, but CM is supposed to be a 3D tactical simulation right????
  13. Why don't you just play chess then? It has clear squares and no chance for random encounters. Everything is in control and all the mistakes you make are your own fault. Now I don't anymore wonder why the wargaming community is getting gradually smaller and smaller. This 70's boardgame attitude... I thought the days of Panzer General were over:-(
  14. I thought the purpose of these grahic improvments and enchantments was to get closer to a natural feel. Needles to say what this grid thing does... You usually make mistakes estimating distances and elevation differences in the real world too. No grid at least here in Europe when I last checked out of the window! Will not ruin my gaming experience with this baby.
  15. Considering the scale the game, it would be highly unlikely that same units that are acting together in one battle would do so in the next. So core unit should alawys be infantry or motorized infantry and rest (tanks, mortars, guns etc.) visiting suppor sections.
