  1. Salute!

Loving game with the patch. Seems like subtle but important improvements.

Question though: patch or no patch, I keep getting my you-know-what whooped on the 3rd US mission: Battle of Sbeitla. Any strategic suggestions? I seem completely out-numbered. Even though I am able to save the radio site, I get completely wiped out before reinforcements arrive.

  2. Welcome! I just wanted to welcome the new blood and at the same time, express my excitement about ToW2. I have been playing Battlefront games for a number of years now, and just started this one after really enjoying the post-patch ToW1. As Moon said, the developers here really listen to feedback, and honestly try to make the best product they can. If that means holding back on releasing a patch to make sure everything is right, or to incorporate a much desired addition, they'll do it, and you won't be sorry for the wait.

I'm enjoying ToW2 as it is now, knowing that when it's all said and done, it's going to be a great game. Right now I'm adjusting to having my head handed to me on battle after battle. I use to be a much better arm-chair-general. I'm blaming my uppity computer.

    Salute!

  3. +1.

I'm really enjoying this. I started playing after the Uberpatch, so missed most the angst from the release date. I till ya, there is just something addictive about this game. Every night I walk into my den thinking, "Okay, tonight I'm gonna (build this, watch this, practice guitar...etc)". Then I think, "Okay, one quick game of ToW,then I'll do...". After each battle its, "Well, one more quick one. I can save it and finish later". Hours later it's time for bed and the only thing I've done all night is play ToW!

I purchased the game when it first came out, but then had to shelve it cuz I got busy. But with the Uber patch out I decided to carve out some time and really try ToW. I must say, there's just something about it that I really, really like. I too hope the support continues (and the product history and quality of character at both Battlefront and 1C suggest it will), and I look forward to any add-ons or updates they have to offer. If ToW is mass-marketed via CDV, I would think we can expect further development, or at least a growth in the community of players.

    Salute!

  5. First, let me say "Wow!"

Words fail me, and I have a degree in English!

With a map editor (hint) this would be the game I've always wanted.

One minor thing I noticed though, when the krauts shoot their mausers, they shoot right handed, but reach OVER the receiver to cock the bolt with their left hand. With the bolt handle on the right side of the weapon, a person would use their right hand to pull the bolt and chamber another round. My brother, who shoots left handed (thus the butt of the rifle being on his left shoulder)has to reach over the receiver to work the action. Like I said, pretty minor, but I wanted to mention it. You know a game's pretty dang good when your big beef is how the rifles get cocked!

    ;)

  6. Tried posting this in the tech forum, but it's gotten no response. Thought I'd try here:

    "Need some help here.

    The demo worked fantastically,

    but...

When I try to launch the full game, I get the hour glass for a second or two, then nothing. I tried then launching the config utility, and I get the above error message. I have tried uninstalling the demo and the game and just reinstalling the game. No joy I'm afraid.

MadMatt: I saw you ask someone else with this problem if the LicCtrl service was running, and the answer in my case is no.

    system:

    Windows XP service pack 2

    3.2ghz proc (Quad-Core QX6700)

    2Gb OCZ ram

    1 Terabyte total HD space

    1Kw Powersupply

Two GeForce 7900 GS in SLI

    SoundBlaster X-Fi

    running 1680 X 1050"

Sitting in their lair clicking refresh like monkeys wastching the money pile up, smoking cheap cigars and drinking Jim Beam. ....

I completely disagree. These are GOOD cigars and well aged Scotch boys. None of that cheap stuff.

Sorry to toss a bomb, but anyone notice it's mostly noobs doing the complaining? I mean, geez, go play some CMAK or CMBB and tell me what you're worried about.

Hate to beat a dying horse here, but just for clarification (more examples on the board should answer more questions, yes?) I have a new Delll XPS 710 with the Core 2Duo Extreme QX6700 proc Quad-core. I can leave the setting for multiple cores on in the config. Correct?
