@Von Fauster; can you tell me which map you're using in the first screenshot? I'll have a look at #114 which seems to be the one you were using in the second screenshot and get back.
/sdp
Same map. I wasn't able to get screens from the first time I had the QB problem.

Salute!
I've had a similar problem with two QBs. AI simply doesn't layout the opposing force.
I've attached two files. "Layout" shows a tight cluster of German troops presumably where they started. The anti-tank guns in particular would have come in quite handy had they been deployed. The AI did sprinkle some light armor around the map, which made me think I had a real battle on my hands until after I cease-fired and looked at the results. The QB Map stats file shows the parameters for the map.
As this is the second time this has happened to me, I'm naturally getting a little concerned. How do we fix this?
Thanks!

Yeah for Gustav Line! I've played the Sicily campaigns through twice now. Can't wait!

Thanks for the intel. At least I can stop looking for a key combo that isn't there!

Howdy all, and Happy Turkey Day (though I prefer smoked ham)
I checked the hotkeys and can't find a way to hide all of the HUD for screenshot purposes. Is there a way to do this?
Thanks, and good hunting!

On this Thanksgiving Day, I'm giving thanks to everyone at Battlefront for all the great hours of "fun" (though I probably take the welfare of my pTroopen too seriously to be "fun") they have brought me over the years, and especially for CMFI, which I just purchased recently. I'm not sure what it is, maybe the new CMx2 engine, but something about this game is seriously cool. I'm still trying to put my finger on it.
Again, many thanks and keep up the great work.
Salute!

Voted for it, of course. I love all the CM games (and hadn't heard of the others anyway. I don't get out much....)

7) Enemy Scrim (camo) nets: Currently these are visible, even at considerable range, giving a clear indication that something is hidden underneath them. The whole point of these nets is that they make what they are covering INVISIBLE... especially when grass, leaves etc have been added.
SLR, I agree with the vast majority of your post. On this point (and I guess the FOO too) I would just like to toss out my experience and what I do. First, on a number of occasions, I have totally failed to see the scrim nets and been completely surprised. In the heat of battle at near ground level pushing forward they are easy to miss when located properly and one has the icons turned off. To help facilitate the FOO, I generally only allow myself a top-level flyover as though I were in a Storch doing recon or spotting. I feel this is a reasonable balance between FOO and tactical information.
As an aside, many years ago, I was in a mech infantry division. We spent a great deal of time out in the field (downrange they called it). I use to hate putting those damn nets up everytime we stopped. It being a government operation, naturally the nets were green camo and the terrain was a light brown to red. We stuck out like sore thumbs. I can't tell you how many times I heard "Had this been an actual combat situation, you would be dead!"
Keep up the fight mein herr!

I posted a reply on the "Will the new patch improve framerate" thread, but I probably should have posted it here because our systems are similar. Be sure to check it out, and be sure "ambient occlusions" is turned off in-game.
Salute!

I'm sure you guys have done like I did and tried all sorts of different settings, but I'll toss this out anyway. I've found the best frame rates for me by twinking my graphic card setting to forced 2x anti-alias, forced 2x filtering, closed down my 2nd screen and set card to single screen mode, closed all other processes and programs, etc. Then I turned off ambient occulsion in the game. Most everything else is set on high except water. Now it runs pretty dang smooth with the exception of when there are lots of planes on strafing runs. The biggest help seemed to come from turning off the ambient occulsions.
Hope this helps some.
Salute!

....Did you get any combat time in with the 4th?
Thanks man. No, I was strictly cold war. Trained at Ft. Irwin for a spell for a potential war in the Mid East (like that would ever happen ;-) ), but I was out before the shooting started. Actually got to train against Op For's "B.M.P.s" and "Hinds" though. That was cool. At the time I was in, nearly all of our NCOs were former Nam grunts, so, as you might expect, I have a lot of respect for fellas that were in country.
Peace,
Ed

Wow fellas. I knew the Panther (and the Tiger for that matter) suffered from the often-mentioned "teething troubles", but I had no idea it was that severe and widespread.
Deputy: I know we got off on the wrong foot, but I just want to say "Thank-you" for your service to our country. I hold our vets in nothing but the highest regard and your sacrifice for our country is truly appreciated. Salute!

Narses, that's some awesome information. Thanks so much for sharing. As an aside, do you think 10th Pz Panther losses were mostly combat related or mechanical in nature?
BTW: I served with the 4th Infantry in the '80s driving M113A2s. Salute! :-)

What are the "Wespe" and "Hummel" doing in this game ?
These are DIVISIONAL arty SP pieces for motorized/pz divisions. They should be off "board" with the other div arty. They have no business being situated forward so as to coming under direct fire.
Out of curiosity, did any divisional units get overrun to the point that such pieces could have come under direct fire? I'm (slowly) working my way through "Kursk: Hitler's Gamble,1943" but have yet to see anything about these units.

...I never liked donuts. I prefer burritos.
Yeah! Something we agree on! I prefer burritos too!

You might have to EAT that horse, pal. Latest word from Sneaksie is FPS was NOT addressed.
... Doesn't make me feel very confident when the company takes a "sorry about that sh**" attitude and blames us for a poorly developed sim with obvious problems.
?
Are we on the same forum?
First, not everyone is having an FPS problem. I have a two year old rig that needed a new graphics card anyway (and updated drivers at that). One small update, and no FPS problem at all. Second, the Battlefront folks are the best at what they do and offer some of the best support in the gaming community. Period. If there's really a problem with the game, rest assured, they'll fix it if they can. Third, I understand the squeaky wheel gets the grease, but I think you've made your position and problems very, very well know in this board. Now take a breath and give 'em a chance to work on it. Fourth, isn't there a demo of Kursk available? Did you try that before you purchased the game? Lastly, I'd bet horse meat would make some great jerky, but probably can't compare to donuts, huh.
Peace,
Von Fauster

The patch will be released soon.
See. That's what I'm talking 'bout. Excellent support. It's why I've been a customer for 10 years. (Grabs nearest can of Bud, "I love ya man."). :-)

Curious about patch status, if any.
I apologize if this has already been addressed, but I was wondering if another patch might be in the works. I own the game but have refrained from playing it, waiting for the remaining issues to be addressed. I have faith they will be, as 1C makes great stuff and Battlefront has always stood by its customers. Like I say, just curious.

I bought a new video card!
I was using a pair of old 7900 GS in SLI. It ran North Africa fine, but then, there isn't as much grass or trees either. I upgraded to a BFG Tech nVidia GTX 260. Everything runs silky smooth now, totally cranked up.
Great game btw!

Just wanted to add that I seem to be having the same trouble. Tow2 ran smooth as glass cranked up. Kursk is choppy no matter how I adjust the graphics. Performance patch?
Specs:
Quad-core cpu
7900 GTS x2 in SLI
4 Gb Ram
etc
Thanks!

... im reading about "battle of Kursk" right now and looking forward to the release!
Just pre-ordered mine today! Wooohooo!
I'm wondering if you can recommend a good book on the Battle of Kursk.
Thanks!

First of all, you can set option 'disregard campaign loss' to continue playing the campaign after defeat.
If you have M10 in the reserves (left after previous mission), ...
Ahh. That may be part of my problem right there. I took some pretty heavy losses in the previous mission. Even though I won it eventually, I may have to go back and replay it to see if I can mitigate the damage in the hopes of bringing them forward into the third mission (I can do this, yes?)
Thanks for the great suggestions. I'll give 'em a try.
Salute!

After playing battlefront games for 13 years, I'm not the least bit worried. I know if something needs fixin', it'll get fixed. Carry on!
