Hmm i'd pick a different tactic Matt. I think the problem with having reserves and/or different chokepoints is not having enough firepower. If you're playing Germans on the defense in a village or town in the end Allied infantry can give you a hard time, especially if there is any armour left. What i do mostly (and mostly it works as well) is deploy the infantry in a horseshoe-like formation, let the allies get close and then let it rip. That way you always have maximum firepower at your disposal and it makes for an excellent formation to launch a counter attack if things turn out better then expected. As for AT, whenever possible try to have 2 AT units (like 75mm pak) on the edges of the horseshoe. That way you can have a great crossfire that uncle Sam would be talking about for ages to come . I hold any armour back a bit most of the times to plug any hole or give the allied main infantry assault a big blow to the head. But then..if there was 1 perfect tactic, it would be staying home and have tea and biscuits.

Just have to get something off my chest here. Why oh why can't a light mg gunner run. As a reason i think i saw Fionn write somewhere that you should try running with an mg on yer shoulder and a supply of ammo in yer hands. Although i get the point, i'd have to say it doesnt work that way. I tried to tell my sergeant this when i was told to carry our squads mg (i'm in the military unfortunately), but he told me to carry it anyway. A light mg squad consists of 2 men, 1 for the gun, 1 for the ammo. And i'd have to say it is very possible to make a dash for it while carrying an mg. Ok, you feel pretty crappy under the weight, but if it can be done in training, you sure as hell can while being shot at from several directions! Then there's the heavy mg...heavier weapon..more ammo...but also a crew of 5! So BTS...if you guys have a spare moment please fill me in on this, cos i really don't get the non-running mg's. It might be a great idea to make the mg's tire faster because of the weight..but you know what i would do under fire while carrying an mg? Holland played Italy in the semi finals, they controlled the game and by some weird twist of fate they lost....but anyone who has seen the game would agree that it wasnt an earned win by Italy. Bullethead just won 1st price, the sollutions given to the problem (a and have something lacking, namely sollution "c". Which would indeed be getting the bleeding hell out of that house and repositioning. The arty wouldnt be such a smart idea though, cos your infantry couldnt be that far away yet and with the average accuracy of arty...i'd say jumping in front of a fast moving truck would be a quicker (and less expensive) way to meet that bearded man upstairs. ------------------ ------------------------ visitwww.Panzershark.com! ------------------------

Hello everyone, Did anyone ever have the prob in which an armoured unit with flexible mg won't fire outside his main gun? I've had this a lot of times actually, tank is unbuttoned and it just doesnt fire. Seems to happen to the German Hetzers most of the times. P.S. please guys, don't insult my intelligence and start about ammo =)

Ah yes, you can hide...but let's say i hide my Tiger cos it's trying to hit that dug in spotter at 3km's. Then a Wolverine rolles through his sights...will that Tiger fire or just be fired at?
