Does anyone know if Luftwaffe ground troops will be included .How about Soviet naval troops .

Has anyone seen any statistic on how many shots or shells on average were need to kill someone in combat ?Now I know it would be boring to play a game where you sat around and watched people for the most part .But might this be more realistic ?

Well I knew I was leaving my self open for the Al Bundy comments weh mentioned the football stuff ? Although don't think that I peaked in highschool . Then again highscool was a lot of fun lol

Well I don't think geek and loser are the same thing .I was the captain of my highschool football team but was a si fi and history buff .Plus now adays girls seem to like a lot of stuff that was once geeky .Plus remember in the revenge of the nerds movies the nerd get the girls and the money .Just look at Bill Gates now that is one rich happy geek .

Well I will work to become one of the geek elite .Tonight i will go over the nightfighting rules in Asl .Go on the Baldurs gate forum and get into a fightover what character class is stronger mages or fighters .

I was reading an article talking about how many chats areas have what this person called the geek elite .These people are experts on topics that most people don't care that much about like Star Trek or history .These people also feel superior to the general public because they know these obscure facts .So do you feel smarter than the average guy because you know what range a Tiger tank can take out a Sherman .

I agree that the russian leadership was in many was evil .But the comman russian fighting man was deserving of all the praise in the world .

Well I did start reading Weinberg's "A World At Armsan I have to admit I did not finish it and I do get your point about History buff's feeling superior about knowing obscure facts that no normal person cares about .I saw this once described as Geek elitism . Ok here are the books that I have based on russia in WW2 .Red army tank commanders ,Red army hand book ,Russsian tanks and armored Vechicles 1917 to 1945 ,Stalins Eagles , .All the osprey books Have I missed any major ones .THe next one I am lookiong to get is Red star Black cross

IF only read Steven Ambrose you would think there was no eastern front . But many of the new books that are coming out give the russian credit for bearing the burnt of fight on the allied side in WW2 .WE on this board know the russian contributions to winning the war but will the general public every know .

Getting a new game normally spurs me to buy books on the subject .Since the game Russo German war just came out and Comabt Mission 2 is hopefully coming out around X-mas .I have been buying books on the russian militaty .I just got Stalin Eagles anyone have any other books to recommend ?

Unless I missed something the Valentine is not in the game .As far as I know about 8,000 Valentines were produced .Did any of them see service on the western front after D-day .If they did see service was wondering why they did not make the cut .

Star Trek fans are just as bad .If you ever go on the Star Fleet command board you should see the fights between people you are TOS fans and Starfleet Battles fans . Star Trek is not real but people take it just as seriously as us history buffs

I remember playing Great Naval Battles 2 .The cv Shokaku was rated as being able to carry 72 aircraft in the game .Everything I read said it should be able to carry 84 aircraft .This really p...ed me off and affected my enjoyment of the game .Maybee in my old age I have mellowed .

Grognard is what Napoleon called his Old Guard .This was one of the most elite units of all time .Never felt right calling myself that just because I play games and grumble

It seems unless a computer wargame is perfect people get angry .I mean you just found you girlfriend in bed with you bestfriend angry .I have not seen that on this board as much because this game is so good . Do we expect to much from the people who make these game. I don't think they came be making that much money designing games that at most sell what 20,000 to 30,000 copies . I know that early war soviet troops will have some command and control handicaps .I agree that early war soviets prob should have some delays to account for lack of training and lack of radios in tanks .But as the war goes on I thinks these should disapear .Late war Guards Tank troop should not have a command and control handicap .

The romainians saw some pretty tough fighting against the Germans near the end of ww2 .

I assume the germans will have the same number of groupings SS ,Heer ,Volkstrum ,Fallschirmjager and Gebirgsjager .I would like to see the addition of Luftwaffe ground troops .I assume that each axis Minor will have their own grouping don't see the need for more than one grouping for countries like Finland or Italy .For Soviets would like to see Guards ,Nkvd ,Paratroopers ,Naval Infanrty and regular red army . Any others you thionk need to be included ?

Does anybody know the squad configurations of soviet infantry in ww2 .How big were the squads what weapons did they carry .Was there any real differnce between guards and normal Red army units .How many different types of squads do you think the game should have to cover the full range of soviet squads .

I had a puma knock out 3 shermans and 2 Cromwells while my Kingtiger and Jagdtiger only knocked out 1 tank each .

I am looking forward to the movie Enemy at the Gates but not getting to excited because not that happy with the cast except for Ed Harris .I just hope it half as good as Saving Private Ryan .

For some reason when I download the new patch it comes up as an excel file and I am not ableto open it what aplications should I be useing to open the file .
