Rollstoy In response to your questions: 1)Nugg, do the explosions flicker or not?! - No my explosions DO NOT flicker. I watched a building explode and it was impresive. 2)Smoke is transparent on my computer, but sometimes it changes from bright to dark (-> flickering). - Yes, I do get the flickering. I also noticed that the transparent buildings will flicker some. The flickering is most noticable between turns, while the computer is thinking. It's not a big problem and I can live with it. Rally: I have a G400 also. Until I installed the latest Matrox drivers, 5.2XX, all I would see was the"White Shpere". With the demo 1.02 I am able to see the Catastrophic explosions,(or at least the explosions look like the ones I've seen in other's screen shots). I'm running a Celery 400A on an Abit board with 128 meg RAM, nothing special. Maybe reloading the drivers from Martox's web site again will do the trick. Good Luck! Nugg

Rollstoy, In response to your question: "Do explosion clouds 'fade out' or just vanish". On my G400 they fade out. I must say that this is with the Demo version not the full version. Nugg

Lawyer, I was able to fix the "transperency" problem with my G400 by D.L.'ing the latest drivers from the Matrox site. Quite nice to be able to see thru the gunblast and explosions Good luck and "Happy Hunting"! Nugg

Just give it time. We will all get our CM "fix" soon. You really don't want to spend you July 4th weekend in front of the computer do you? If it makes any of you feel any better, I live in Maine and have not recived my Pre-order yet. I have thoughts of driving over to Vt. and just picking up my CM but whats the use? Life will continue without my CM in the computer. Just "fine tune" your troops skills with the Demo. As one of my workers used to say, "It ain't nothin' but a thing". Nugg

I had the same problem with my Matrox G400. I Downloaded the latest drivers (5.???) and That solved the problem. This is on the Demo version. I have not recived my Pre-order yet (and I live in Maine!) so I do not know what will happen in the Full version. Good Luck! Nugg

I would like to know if any of you G400 users out there have been able to reslove the transperency problem with CM. I am still waiting for my pre-order (and I live in Maine!) and I do not know if the issue was cleared in the full version or if another "fix" was found. GhostOne or any of you others out there, could you let me know? Nugg

Another thing about the the black and white translucent smoke. I am sure the effect we see even after the intial "blast" is not correct. The posted screen shots I have seen do not look like the smoke when using my G400. Lets hope that a "fix" is coming real soon. Nugg

GhostOne; I've noticed this too. You cannot see thru the smoke or the gunblast, just a white shpere. Let's hope Steve and company can geet a fix out real soon. The G400 is a very good card and a patch should fix it.
