  1. I drove a tank half way through a house (entirely possible, I know!) With the turret swung to the left..eventually the AI cottoned on and hit the reverse before proceding around the building.

    1. Has any one had worse trouble than this?

    2. has anyone sustained damage to gun or vehicle hitting scenery?

(It would be cool if a foolish manouver could ruin your main gun)

Okay, I want one of those clever sound people to do a modification to the files so that when Brit troops are taking heavy fire, one of them yells:

    "Help, help, I'm being suppressed!

    While another yells:

"Come and see the violence inherent in the scenario!"

I've just laughed my nuts of at this (mis)quote...well done!

  3. I've just seen the funniest thing.

Villers-Bocage Tiger! I passed a building and started taking Piat hits from about 20 yards. They glanced off the turret of my Tiger and landed right back onto the building where the team were hiding...You should have seen those guys run biggrin.gif

  4. Open tops being buttoned has had me a little confused ,since only the driver gets additional protection when vision hatches are shut. The passengers ,however are in a conspicuous(sp?) place and will draw fire. This will generate combat stress, and lead to routing. Also bullets follow a curved path due to gravity, so decent troops could observe tracer, and be able to get hot lead zinging around the passenger compartment.

  5. Taper bore refers to the shot fired being squeezed as it travels up the barrel. Since the propellant force is acting over a reducing diameter, the velocity increases.

I'm sure a math / physics major could sort out the equation...It's too long ago for me to remember :-0

  6. I bagged 19 and then lost a track...I held up the allies till 'the cavalry' showed up.....then they got their asses kicked.

My tiger took hits from all over, but the. re-enforcements got killed 1st hit.

Did you also find that a rifle squad could distract a tiger from targetting a cromwell or firefly?

  7. 1. You gun your car engine and crawl along looking all around.(Particularly the hedgerows for anti-tank teams)

2.You see a cop with a radar gun and try to call down smoke,to mask your position.

3.Anyone in a smaller lighter car is an easy target(It makes my drive home more fun ,anyway)

    4.You can't walk in a straight line..you have to zig-zag

5.If you're under stress, you pray for your 'minute'to end so you can plan your next move.

    Over to you guys...

  8. I've been playing Villers-bocage..(y'know,MY scenario :) )

I had been mixing it big time with my Tiger, using cover , hunt, and targeting..only to watch in horror as I lined up a Firefly, only to break off aim to fire on a rifle squad...Aagh. M.Wittmann was well aware that the firefly was the bigest threat to him in this engagement. I got tagged by the Firefly as a result. I have noticed other poor AI retargeting throughout this scenario....Some is quite cool , like when smoke obscures what you're after, so you take another target, but others just bring out a cold sweat!

    Good hunting

  9. All this talk of Maus on the wish list...I doubt your source which says it saw action...I'd love to have you prove me wrong but as far as I know there was a running prototype-unarmed..and a couple of armed turrets, which never got fitted together.

If we're going to look at 'could have been' then I'd like a division equipped with panther II,E100 and E75. they sure had some potential.
